PUBG Mobile 4.6 is due on 9 September 2026 — what to prepare on GameLoop PC

Update 4.6 is scheduled two days before Ranked Season 31 closes. Here is what has been officially confirmed, what only appeared in the beta build, and what a mouse-and-keyboard player should sort out in advance.

PUBG Mobile's next major client, update 4.6, has a date: 9 September 2026. Almost everything else being written about it does not have that status. Some of it comes from a beta build that has already finished its run, some of it comes from strings pulled out of that build, and only a small part of it comes from the publisher.

This article keeps those three tiers apart on purpose, because the gap between them is where most PUBG Mobile patch previews go wrong. It also covers what a GameLoop PC player should actually do before 9 September, which is a different list from what a phone player needs.

1. What is officially confirmed

The date. The developers gave 9 September 2026 as the release date for update 4.6 on the official PUBG Mobile X account; we read it through TalkEsport's report of 10 August 2026. No clock time was published alongside it. If you see a countdown with an hour attached to it, that hour is somebody's estimate, not an announcement.

The version number, in the publisher's own writing. pubgmobile.com's announcement list carries two entries titled "V4.6 Beta 2" (6 August 2026) and "V4.6 Beta 3" (13 August 2026). That is a small thing that matters: it is the official site putting the version number on the record, rather than a fan account inferring one.

Two gameplay features, from official art. The Beta 3 key art shows a vampire-castle version of Erangel and carries the line "New Inflatable Boat · Aerial Gliding". An inflatable boat and aerial gliding are the only gameplay features shown on official artwork for 4.6.

That is the confirmed list, and its shortness is the honest picture of what is known.

2. Two clocks, not one: update 4.6 and Ranked Season 31

Ranked Season 31 runs 16 July – 11 September 2026, with Royale Pass A20 attached to it. Update 4.6 is scheduled for 9 September 2026. The update and the season rollover are separate events on separate dates: 4.6 is due two days before the ranked season ends, not on the same day. Three consequences follow:

  • You will play the closing days of Season 31 on a brand-new client. If you are pushing for a tier, the last stretch of that push happens on software that changed underneath you. Plan to finish before 9 September rather than after it.
  • An update that goes wrong on 9 September costs you the worst two days to lose. A client that will not patch is an ordinary inconvenience mid-season and a genuine problem in the final 48 hours — which is the whole argument for checking your update path in advance rather than when the download appears.
  • Royale Pass A20 progress and 4.6 are on different tracks. The pass is tied to the season window, not the client version, so a new client does not close it.

If your Season 31 setup is still what you configured in July, the days before 9 September are the cheapest time to revisit it — the Season 31 settings guide for GameLoop PC is the starting point, and experimenting costs far less before a major version than after one.

3. The client 4.6 replaces

The live client is 4.5, released globally on 9 July 2026, carrying the NARUTO SHIPPUDEN collaboration alongside the Ferrari and Spider-Man: Brand New Day tie-ins. Update 4.6 supersedes it on 9 September 2026.

We will not guess which of 4.5's collaboration content survives the version change, because no announcement covers it. What matters here is the shape of the transition: a major version number means a full client update rather than a small patch, and that is what to prepare for on PC.

4. What the beta build showed — and why that is not a patch note

Everything in this section was seen in the beta build, not in final patch notes. Beta builds exist to be changed: features get renamed, rebalanced, pushed to a later version or cut outright between a beta and a global release, and a beta observation reported as fact is how a preview ages badly within a fortnight.

With that label attached: press coverage of the beta describes a vampire-themed mode reported as "Bloodline Awakening" on Erangel. As seen in the beta build and not in final patch notes, eliminated players respawn as vampires; PvE enemies named Nightbat and Bloodwalker appear alongside a Vampire Elder boss; a Hunter Guild mission line runs through the mode; and themed points of interest sit at Rozhok, Mylta, Quarry and Gatka. The same coverage lists items called Twilight Bat Wings, Silvermoon Chain, Hunter Bandage and Blood Pact, the last described as sharing HP with a teammate.

That description does line up with the one piece of official art we have — a vampire castle over Erangel. Consistency between a beta observation and official artwork raises confidence, but it does not turn the observation into a confirmed feature list.

The beta programme itself has finished. It ran in four windows: Beta 1 from 30 July to 5 August 2026 (a stability pass), Beta 2 from 6 to 12 August, Beta 3 from 13 to 20 August, and Beta 4 from 21 to 23 August 2026. No further public test window sits between the end of that programme and the 9 September date, so what shipped in Beta 4 is a reasonable — not guaranteed — guide to what 4.6 contains.

5. Unconfirmed leaks, clearly marked as such

Beta data has also been reported to contain references to a Demon Slayer collaboration and to One Piece's Buggy. These are unconfirmed leaks. Datamined references are not a roadmap: strings and assets land in a build for many reasons, including work scheduled for a version far later than the one they were found in. They are listed here so you recognise them when they reach your feed dressed as an announcement, not because we expect them in 4.6.

6. The GameLoop PC preparation list

This is the part that is specific to playing on a PC, and it is worth doing before the update rather than during it.

Update through GameLoop, not through an outside APK. GameLoop is the officially supported emulator for PUBG Mobile, and emulator players are matched into their own lobbies rather than against phone players. Both of those properties depend on the client GameLoop's own installer manages. Sideloading a global APK from a third-party site into the emulator is the reliable way to end up with a version mismatch on the morning of a release, and it is not a supported path. Open GameLoop's game centre and let it fetch 4.6 the way it fetched 4.5.

Give the download somewhere to go. A full version update is not a small patch: the installer needs room for the download, room to unpack it, and room for the old files until the swap completes — meaningfully more free space than the download alone. Checking the drive GameLoop is installed on takes a minute before 9 September; discovering the problem while everyone else is already in-game does not. The GameLoop PC requirements guide covers the baseline.

Know what a stalled update looks like before you meet one. Release-day download servers are busy, and a progress bar that has not moved is the most common way a version day goes wrong on PC. The stuck GameLoop update guide covers the recovery steps; reading it in advance turns a lost evening into ten minutes.

Leave keymap slots free. This is the preparation the confirmed information genuinely justifies. The two features on official art are an inflatable boat and aerial gliding — a water vehicle and a movement mechanic. On a touchscreen, new mechanics arrive as on-screen buttons and cost nothing but screen space. On GameLoop every one of those buttons needs a physical key, and a new vehicle plus a new movement mechanic is exactly the pairing that adds several bindings at once: enter and exit, a deploy or a boost, a glide trigger, a release.

If your keymap already occupies every comfortable key around WASD, the first match after the update becomes a keymap-editing session instead of a match. Audit your layout before 9 September and deliberately keep two or three reachable keys unassigned — the sort you can hit without taking your hand off movement. The GameLoop keymapping guide covers laying out a scheme with room in it, and checking which keys are genuinely free rather than assumed to be.

Expect a settings pass after the update, not before. Major client versions can reset or reshuffle in-game graphics options, so treat your first launch on 4.6 as a settings check: confirm the frame-rate and graphics options are where you left them before you queue into ranked, especially with two days of Season 31 still to play.

7. BGMI: expect a gap, not a simultaneous release

BGMI, the India build, has historically run about a week behind the global client — BGMI 4.5 landed on 16 July 2026 against a global release of 9 July 2026.

No official BGMI 4.6 date exists. A window of roughly 10–14 September 2026 is the expectation that follows from that historical gap, and it should be read as an expectation rather than a fact. If you play the India build on GameLoop, the practical advice is the same with the dates shifted: do the disk and keymap preparation on the global schedule, and wait for an official BGMI announcement rather than a countdown built on a pattern.

8. A short method for reading 4.6 coverage

The volume of 4.6 content will rise steeply before 9 September, and most of it will sound confident. Three questions sort it quickly:

  1. Where did the claim come from? Official art, the official announcement list and a developer post are one tier. Press reporting of a beta build is a second. Datamined strings are a third. An article that never tells you which tier it is on has not done the work.
  2. Does it print a clock time or a download size? Neither has been published for 4.6. A specific hour or a specific number of gigabytes is invented, and an article that invents one is inventing others.
  3. Does the beta content carry a label? Bloodline Awakening, its enemies and its items are beta observations. An article presenting them as a confirmed feature list does not know the difference.

The short version for a GameLoop player: 9 September 2026, no clock time, an inflatable boat and aerial gliding confirmed on official art, a vampire mode strongly indicated by the beta but not confirmed, and a two-day overlap with the end of Ranked Season 31 that makes a clean update path worth checking before the date rather than on it.
