CODM Season 8 "Against All Fate" — Patch Analysis for GameLoop PC (September 2026)

Season 8 launches September 9. Here is what every GameLoop PC player needs to know before they load in — weapon changes, the FSS Hurricane nerf, new weapons, the Roguelike co-op mode, and the Honkai Impact 3rd collab.

Season 8 "Against All Fate" drops September 9, 2026. Before you open GameLoop and hit Play, here is what changed from Season 7 and why it matters if you are on a keyboard and mouse.

This is a patch breakdown, not a general guide. It covers every meaningful S8 change from the emulator-player perspective: what the numbers mean on PC, what to swap in your loadout, what to expect from the new mode, and what to do about the Honkai Impact 3rd collab event.

Weapon changes: what S8 does to your loadout

FSS Hurricane — nerfed, not worth the slot

The FSS Hurricane SMG takes a sprint speed reduction in S8. On mobile, sprint-to-fire behavior is partially abstracted by touch controls. On GameLoop, you feel sprint speed directly — it translates to how fast you can approach cover, rotate out of sight, and chase a kill before the target resets.

The Hurricane was already a fringe SMG choice by the end of S7. The sprint nerf pushes it below the line for PC. Drop it.

What to run instead: The Fennec or LAPA. Both received buffs in S8 — the LAPA gets a higher damage profile at every range tier (33/29/22/16), and the Fennec gets an improved range spread. Either one pairs well with a mid-range AR in your secondary slot.

S36 LMG — now actually worth considering

The S36 LMG goes from a 420ms ADS time to 380ms in S8. On mobile, any LMG feels sluggish because ADS is initiated by touch tap — a 40ms improvement barely registers. On GameLoop PC, you bind ADS to a mouse button, so the mechanical input is near-instant. The bottleneck is the weapon animation, and a 380ms ADS is now short enough to be competitive in mid-range engagements.

LMGs have always been underrated on PC for the same reason they are overrated on mobile: on PC, you do not need to dodge by moving your device. You hold a line with keyboard movement and track with the mouse. The S36's damage output and magazine size were already strong. Now its ADS speed is no longer the reason to avoid it.

Who should try it: Players who run Hardpoint defense or hold map anchors. The S36 is not an aggressive flanking weapon. It is a hold-and-punish weapon, and that style works well on keyboard.

Sticky Grenade — radius up, 80 minimum damage

The Sticky Grenade radius is expanded in S8, and the minimum damage floor is now 80. On PC, throwing accuracy with mouse input is already better than touchscreen throwing. A larger radius makes the Sticky Grenade viable as a Hardpoint clear tool rather than a pure kill-setup grenade.

The 80 minimum damage floor means targets at the edge of the blast radius are now guaranteed to take meaningful damage — they cannot walk through a badly-placed Sticky and ignore it. In Hardpoint specifically, where enemies cluster on objectives, this is a quality-of-life improvement for PC throwers who can land grenades consistently.

VTOL Jet — protection phase removed

The VTOL Jet scorestreak loses its protection phase in S8. This is good news for GameLoop players: on PC, you aim at aircraft with mouse precision. The protection phase was the only reason the VTOL required a coordinated response — a protected VTOL was hard to punish from the ground because shooting it during invincibility frames was wasted ammo.

Without the protection phase, the VTOL is now a straight aim test. PC players with accurate mouse aim will shoot it down faster than mobile players can on touchscreen. If the enemy team calls one in, get your launcher ready and take it down immediately. It no longer requires waiting for the invincibility window to expire.

Jet Boost wall-running — removed from Battle Royale

Jet Boost wall-running is gone from BR in S8. This was one of the higher-skill movement mechanics in BR — on mobile, wall-running required specific swipe patterns. On GameLoop, it was bound to a key sequence but still required timing.

For most PC players, this change simplifies rotation. Movement in BR is now more predictable and easier to read from both sides of an engagement. If you relied on wall-run flanks, you will need to route differently. If you played against wall-runners, chasing the mechanic is no longer a factor.

Flash Drone + Inflatable Decoy — 2 starting uses each

Both the Flash Drone and Inflatable Decoy now start with 2 uses instead of 1. This is a direct buff to any loadout that runs either equipment piece.

The Flash Drone is strong on PC because you can deploy it precisely — mouse aim lets you direct the drone's trajectory in ways that touchscreen players struggle to control. Two starting uses doubles your pressure on enemy sightlines.

The Inflatable Decoy with 2 uses becomes a more reliable counter-intelligence tool. Two decoys, deployed quickly with keyboard movement, can reset a coordinated enemy push without spending scorestreak resources.

More confirmed weapon changes — the compact list

The S8 patch notes confirm additional balance changes beyond the two above. These are covered in detail in the S8 weapon guides, but here is the confirmed change for each:

WeaponDirectionKey change
LAPA SMGBuffedDamage: 31/28/20/16 → 33/29/22/16 across all tiers
Fennec SMGBuffedImproved range profile and damage multipliers (exact values not in patch notes; check in-game)
Krig 6 ARBuffedNew 31-damage tier at 10m; second range extended 17m→18m
FFAR 1 ARBuffedInitial damage range 6.6m→10m; stomach multiplier 1x→1.06x
Cronen Squall ARBuffedImproved damage ranges, tighter ADS bullet spread, stronger arm/leg multipliers
AS VAL ARNerfedFire rate +300%→+200%; damage 46/45/39/34→48/44/35/30; range 15M/50M/75M→25M/38M/75M
SKS DMRBuffedArm damage 48→54; vertical recoil and hit flinch reduced
Arctic .50 SniperBuffedVertical recoil reduced; MIP Stopping Power Reload attachment reworked
Rytec AMR SniperBuffedHeadshot multiplier increased (BR mode)

The pattern across SMGs and ARs is consistent with what the Hurricane nerf signals: the patch pushes the meta toward weapons that reward deliberate aim over aggressive mobility. LAPAs, Krig 6s, and Cronen Squalls all get better. The AS VAL, which many mobile players used for its burst speed, gets worse at every range beyond point-blank.

For the PC emulator player, almost every buff in this list lands on a weapon class that benefits from mouse control: mid-range ARs, deliberate SMG play, and snipers. The worst-case S8 scenario from a GameLoop perspective would have been if the patch buffed high-mobility tools — it did the opposite.

New weapons: Static-HV SMG and ISO Hemlock AR

Two weapons enter the pool in S8: the Static-HV SMG and the ISO Hemlock AR.

At launch, there is not yet enough data from GameLoop-specific testing to rank either weapon confidently. Both will be available in the armory from September 9. The practical advice at season launch:

  • Unlock and run each weapon in Quick Match before committing it to Ranked loadouts.
  • Assess recoil with your mouse at your actual sensitivity — weapons that feel controllable on mobile may behave differently when you track with a physical mouse.
  • Check the gameloop.blog S8 weapon coverage as it publishes for PC-specific assessments of each.

Roguelike co-op mode — three players, wave-based

S8 introduces a new Roguelike co-op mode: three players, wave-based structure, each wave ending in a boss encounter. This is a co-op PvE mode, separate from Multiplayer and BR ladders.

For GameLoop players, co-op modes remove the competitive variable — no anti-cheat pressure, no ranked stakes. They are a lower-stress environment for testing S8 weapons and settings without risking Ranked progression.

Practical use at launch: Run the Roguelike mode during the first 48 hours of S8 while server queues for Multiplayer Ranked are at peak load. Use the time to learn the Static-HV and ISO Hemlock behavior before queuing competitive.

Honkai Impact 3rd collab — Free Mythic Event

S8 launches with a Honkai Impact 3rd crossover event. At launch, completing season milestones earns one of three Mythic weapons free. This is a free Mythic unlock, not a paid Battle Pass tier — it is available to every player who completes the milestone chain.

Emulator-specific note: On first S8 login, GameLoop and emulator users may be prompted for an extra verification step to access collab event eligibility. This is standard Activision behavior during collab events — it is not a sign of account restriction. Complete the verification in-game and the collab event becomes accessible normally.

Complete the milestone chain before the event window closes. The in-game event tab shows the deadline timer once S8 is live.

What to do before you load in on September 9

  1. Update GameLoop to 9.0.x or later before the S8 patch drops. Older GameLoop versions have higher false-positive emulator detection rates during season transitions.
  2. Clear CODM cache after the S8 download completes. Open CODM → Settings → Account → Clear Cache → close both CODM and GameLoop → wait 30 seconds → reopen. This prevents the majority of launch-day crash reports.
  3. Re-check your graphics settings after the first S8 load. The patch frequently resets frame rate to 30 FPS or "Medium" quality. Restore your settings manually before entering any match.
  4. Expect 1–2 hours of CDN congestion at launch. If the download stalls or the login screen hangs, this is server-side load from simultaneous global logins. Wait and retry — your progress does not reset.
