CODM Season 7 Terminated keymapping guide for GameLoop PC

Season 7 adds three mechanics that need specific Smart Tool configuration — Operator Skill Overdrive, Hardpoint Mayhem roles, and the Lockdown BR mode. Here is the setup.

Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7, Terminated, launched on 5 August 2026. Three new mechanics require deliberate keymapping attention for PC players on GameLoop: Operator Skill Overdrive (new free-for-all mode), Hardpoint: Mayhem (role-based multiplayer), and Lockdown (new Battle Royale mode on Rebirth Island). This guide covers the baseline setup and the season-specific adjustments.

The baseline — confirm this first

Before adjusting for Season 7 specifics, verify your core keymapping is intact after the patch. Open GameLoop, launch CODM to the title screen, and press Escape or the keymapping icon to open the overlay.

Critical bindings to confirm:

  • Fire — left-click. If the patch reset this, restore it before anything else.
  • ADS — right-click. Confirm whether you have it set to Hold or Toggle.
  • JumpSpace. Lockdown mode rewards vertical awareness; a reliable jump binding matters.
  • Operator Skill — the activation key for your equipped Operator Skill. Season 7's Overdrive mode is built around this input — verify it is accessible without leaving your movement keys.
  • Crouch / proneC and Z for most players. Crouch sees heavy use in Hardpoint: Mayhem and in Lockdown close-range fights.

If you updated GameLoop to the Season 7 client and any binding was reset, fix the baseline before reading the season-specific sections below.

Operator Skill Overdrive — keymapping notes

Operator Skill Overdrive is a new free-for-all mode where players collect, upgrade, and fuse Operator Skills into Fusion Skills throughout the match. The core loop: eliminate opponents to collect dropped Operator Skills, upgrade them by collecting duplicates, then fuse two upgraded skills into a higher-tier Fusion Skill and use it to dominate the endgame.

Key implication for keymapping: your Operator Skill key becomes the most-used button in this mode. Players who have their skill bound to a hard-to-reach key lose activation speed compared to opponents who activate in a single fluid motion.

Recommended: bind your Operator Skill to a key your off-hand can press without moving from WASD — Q, E, F, or a thumb side-button on your mouse. The exact key matters less than the ability to activate while holding a movement key simultaneously.

Auto-fire note: Smart Tool's auto-fire option triggers fire immediately on ADS. This works well for rifles in standard modes but can misfire during Overdrive's skill use phase if your preset conflates ADS and skill activation. Test in the Practice lobby before entering Overdrive for the first time.

Hardpoint: Mayhem — role-specific keymapping

Hardpoint: Mayhem uses a role system where each player is assigned one of three roles at match start: Anchor, Rover, or Controller. Each role has a distinct loadout and scoring mechanic.

  • Anchor — captures and defends the hardpoint. Time-on-point scoring. Loadout biased toward close-to-mid range.
  • Rover — rotates between hardpoints and applies off-angle pressure. Kill-plus-assist scoring. Loadout biased toward mobility.
  • Controller — disrupts enemy hardpoint control from distance. Disruption-time scoring. Loadout biased toward long range.

Keymapping impact: because roles are pre-assigned and use different loadouts, you may land in a role that does not match your current keymap preset. The most common mismatch is an Anchor player (close range) with a preset tuned for long-range sniping.

Solution: save separate Smart Tool presets for different playstyle profiles. Create a "CQB" profile (close-quarters: toggle ADS off, higher sensitivity zone, fast melee key) and a "Ranged" profile (hold ADS, reduced sensitivity zone for precision). Before queuing for Mayhem, check which role you were last assigned in the post-match screen and switch presets if needed.

Role assignment is random — you cannot choose before the match. If you frequently land in a role that frustrates you, the answer is preset breadth, not trying to play Rover mechanics on a Controller preset.

Lockdown BR mode — Rebirth Island configuration

Lockdown is a new Battle Royale mode on Rebirth Island where teams capture and hold specific zones. Respawns are active when your team holds a zone. The format rewards aggressive rotation and zone control more than survival.

Key differences from standard BR that affect keymapping:

Respawn availability changes risk calculus. You can push more aggressively because death is not final while your team holds a zone. This shifts optimal keymapping toward action-speed:

  • ADS on Hold (faster response in firefights) rather than Toggle
  • Fire on left-click confirmed — verify after patch
  • Melee on a fast key — V is standard

Zone capture requires standing inside the zone for the timer. During the capture window you are stationary and vulnerable. Bind your tactical equipment to a key you can press immediately when capture begins — pop smoke, stand, cap. If your grenade key is buried under a modifier combo, you will lose capture windows.

The Overload class is new in S7 Terminated. It comes pre-equipped with a Shock Stick that interrupts nearby enemies. If you select Overload, your tactical slot is assigned to the Shock Stick. Confirm your tactical key triggers it correctly. The Shock Stick is thrown, not placed — it uses the standard grenade-throw input.

After the Season 7 update — check your preset

GameLoop occasionally resets Smart Tool presets when a major patch changes the HUD layout. The S7 patch added Fusion Skill slots and Lockdown zone-capture prompts. Verify:

  1. Open Smart Tool overlay in a match lobby.
  2. Scroll through all slots — primary, secondary, grenades, Operator Skill, and the Fusion Skill slot if applicable.
  3. Confirm no binding shows blank where you had one before.
  4. If any key is unbound, reassign and save before entering a live match.

A short Practice vs AI session immediately after updating is the fastest verification — every input confirms or reveals missing bindings before they matter in ranked.
