Stumble Guys on GameLoop PC: Controls, Settings, and Keymapping Guide

Stumble Guys maps cleanly to a keyboard and mouse — WASD for movement, Space for jump, and one key for dive. Getting that setup right before your first qualifying round makes a real difference.

Stumble Guys is a battle-royale obstacle course game from Scopely. Up to 32 players race through rounds of increasingly difficult courses, and only a fraction survive to the next stage. The game has no Windows desktop client — on PC, GameLoop is the standard path.

The good news: the controls translate well. Movement on mobile is a virtual joystick, jumps are single taps, and dives are swipes. On PC, those map to WASD, Space, and a single keypress. Once mapped, the controls feel natural within a few rounds.

Install

  1. Open GameLoop and search "Stumble Guys" in the Game Center.
  2. Click Install. GameLoop downloads the Play Store version directly.
  3. Launch the game and sign in with your Google account or guest account.

If you played on mobile and want to carry over your progress, use the same Google account. Stumble Guys saves to the account rather than to the device, so syncing is automatic.

The game will prompt you to download additional content on first launch. Let that complete before entering a match — starting a round during the download sometimes causes disconnects.

Keymapping

Open the GameLoop keyboard editor using the key icon at the top right of the window. Stumble Guys uses a directional joystick for movement and separate buttons for jump and dive. Map them as follows:

ActionSuggested key
Move upW
Move downS
Move leftA
Move rightD
JumpSpace
Dive / RollLeft Shift or Ctrl
Grab (mode-specific)E
EmoteT
Emote menuG

For the movement joystick, use the Virtual Joystick (WASD) input type in the GameLoop editor rather than mapping individual directional arrows. WASD joystick mode gives analog-style diagonal movement — this matters in Stumble Guys because courses often require precise diagonal approaches to narrow platforms.

For jump: tap-to-jump maps cleanly. You can also hold jump for a longer arc on courses where the jump duration matters, so binding Space lets you control this naturally.

For dive: dive is one of the most important mechanics in Stumble Guys. On mobile it is a swipe; on GameLoop it becomes a keypress. Bind it to Left Shift — it is the closest to a natural reaction key for "go down fast" while running.

Controls that matter most

Stumble Guys survival is about timing and positioning, not reflexes. The mechanics that separate players who qualify from those who fall are:

Jump + dive stacking: jumping and immediately diving mid-air gives you a forward lunge. This is the standard technique for reaching ledges that are just out of range or for crossing gaps quickly. With Space + Shift on PC, this is easier to execute consistently than on touchscreen.

Dive-canceling: landing a dive and immediately jumping out of it shortens your recovery animation. On PC, pressing Space right as the dive lands is more reliable than the equivalent flick on mobile.

Obstacle avoidance timing: spinning hammers, rotating fans, and disappearing platforms all have predictable timing. PC players do not have a mechanical advantage here — the patterns are the same — but a mouse cursor lets you hold the camera angle steady, which helps with depth perception on 3D courses.

Performance settings

Stumble Guys runs on Unreal Engine and is more graphically demanding than 2D games like Brawl Stars or Clash of Clans. Mid-range gaming PCs handle it at 60fps without issue, but integrated graphics laptops may need to adjust.

GameLoop settings:

  • Memory allocation: 4096 MB (increase to 6144 MB if you have 16 GB+ system RAM)
  • Frame rate: 60fps
  • Resolution: 1280×720 is a safe baseline; increase to 1920×1080 if your GPU supports it

In-game graphics: in Settings → Graphics, set to Medium first and test for frame drops. Most PC setups can move to High without issue. Ultra on integrated graphics will cause thermal throttling on laptops.

Keep frame rate at 60fps. Stumble Guys does not benefit from higher frame rates visually (it is a physics simulation game), and the extra GPU load is not worth it.

Multiplayer and accounts

Stumble Guys supports cross-platform matchmaking by default. PC GameLoop players are pooled with mobile players.

Mobile players have a slight advantage on tap-heavy precision inputs (phone screens register touch faster than a keymapped button), but PC players have a significant advantage on courses requiring sustained directional precision — long narrow paths, moving platforms, and courses with joystick micro-adjustments.

Overall, the platforms are balanced enough that the game does not restrict emulator users from standard playlists.

Seasonal content and passes sync across platforms. If you bought a Premium Pass on mobile, it applies on GameLoop.

Common setup questions

Can I use my mobile account? Yes. Sign in with Google on both platforms. Progress, cosmetics, and seasonal content sync automatically.

Do keymaps save between sessions? Yes. GameLoop saves keymaps per game. Configure once and they persist.

The joystick feels off — small inputs do not register properly. Open the keymapping editor and reduce the deadzone on the movement joystick zone. The default deadzone is sometimes set for phone touch imprecision; on PC, a smaller deadzone registers small directional corrections immediately.

The game crashes on rounds with many players. Increase memory allocation to 6144 MB in GameLoop settings and lower in-game graphics to Medium. Stumble Guys loads all 32 player models simultaneously — memory, not GPU, is usually the constraint on crash-heavy rounds.

Can I play limited-time modes? Yes. All modes and events are available on GameLoop including Candy Hunt, Rocket Riders, and collaboration modes. No mode restrictions apply to emulator users.
