Standoff 2 on GameLoop: Controls, Settings, and Keymapping Guide

Standoff 2 is one of the better mobile shooters for keyboard and mouse — the movement and aim system maps cleanly to a PC setup. The keymapping step takes five minutes and makes a real difference.

Standoff 2 is a competitive mobile FPS by Axlebolt with no official PC client. On PC, GameLoop is the most reliable path — the game is listed in GameLoop's Game Center catalog, installs directly without APK sideloading, and account progress syncs from your mobile immediately.

This guide covers the install, the keymapping setup that actually works, and the graphics settings that keep frame rates stable during matches.

Install

  1. Open GameLoop and search "Standoff 2" in the Game Center.
  2. Click Install. GameLoop downloads the Play Store version directly.
  3. On first launch, log in with the same account you use on mobile: Standoff ID, Google, or Guest with the backup code Axlebolt provides in your mobile profile settings. Guest accounts without a backup code cannot be recovered on a new device.
  4. If you use a Guest account on mobile and want to keep your progress, go to Profile → Settings → Link Account inside the mobile app before switching.

The first launch after install downloads additional assets — weapon textures and map data. Let this finish before entering a competitive match.

Keymapping

Standoff 2 uses a left-side joystick for movement and a right-side touch area for aiming and shooting. On GameLoop, you need to map these manually. The default automatic key assignment often places controls in unhelpful positions.

Open the GameLoop keyboard editor (the key icon in the top-right toolbar) and set these bindings:

ActionSuggested key
MoveD-pad → W / A / S / D
Aim / look aroundMouse (right-side touch zone)
FireLeft mouse button
Aim down sights (ADS)Right mouse button
ReloadR
JumpSpace
Crouch / proneC (hold = prone)
GrenadeG
Primary weapon1
Secondary weapon2
Knife3
Interact / defuse / plantF
ScoreboardTab

For the movement area, use a D-pad overlay rather than raw WASD point bindings. Standoff 2 uses an analog joystick for movement — the D-pad overlay converts your key presses into joystick input, which gives you smoother movement between cardinal directions and diagonals. Raw WASD bindings in GameLoop can produce snapping between 8 fixed angles.

For the aim area, place a mouse drag zone over the right side of the screen where the aim area appears in mobile. Adjust the sensitivity so the mouse feel in GameLoop matches your expectation — too low and small adjustments take large mouse movements; too high and you over-rotate on quick turns.

Sensitivity tuning

Standoff 2 has in-game sensitivity sliders for general, scope, and ADS separately. On GameLoop, the game's own sensitivity interacts with the mouse drag zone sensitivity in the keymapping editor. You control both.

A practical starting point:

  • Set the in-game general sensitivity to the lower end of your mobile setting (around 70-80% of what you use on phone).
  • Set ADS and scope sensitivity lower still (55-65%).
  • In the GameLoop keymapping editor, set the mouse drag zone speed to 1.5-2x.

The reason is that on a physical mouse you can make faster corrections than on a touchscreen swipe. Starting lower in-game and higher in the emulator tends to land closer to a natural PC FPS feel. Adjust until one-eighty turns feel right with a full mouse sweep.

Graphics settings

Standoff 2 scales reasonably well across PC hardware. The recommended starting point inside the game settings:

  • Graphics quality: Medium
  • Frame rate: 60 fps (or the highest your machine sustains without drops)
  • Shadow quality: Low or Off — shadows are the primary framerate cost and add little tactical information in competitive play
  • Anti-aliasing: Off on lower-end machines; Low on mid-range
  • Post-processing: Off

In GameLoop's own settings: set the renderer to DirectX 11 (the default for most machines). If you see a black screen on launch, switch between DirectX 11 and Compatibility mode in GameLoop's configuration panel.

Crosshair and HUD scale

Standoff 2's default HUD is sized for mobile screens. On a PC monitor the HUD elements — health bar, ammo counter, minimap — appear smaller than you are used to. In the game's Interface settings, increase the HUD scale slider to 110-120%. The joystick and buttons on the left of the screen can be scaled down or hidden since you are using keyboard controls; this cleans up screen real estate for a better view of the game.

Common fixes

Black screen on launch: In GameLoop settings, switch graphics mode between DirectX 11 and Compatibility. DirectX 11 is faster on most hardware; Compatibility mode resolves GPU compatibility issues that cause a black window.

Movement snapping between 8 angles: Replace WASD point bindings with a D-pad overlay as described above. This is the most common keymapping mistake for GameLoop FPS games.

Game crashes during matches: Add GameLoop's install folder to your antivirus exclusion list. Security software scanning game memory in real time causes crashes in several emulators, including GameLoop.

High ping in competitive matches: Standoff 2's servers are regional. In the game's Settings → Network, check your selected region. Selecting the wrong region (a remote datacenter) increases ping. If your correct region shows high ping, ExitLag or a gaming VPN can route around ISP congestion to Axlebolt's servers.

Keymapping resets after GameLoop update: GameLoop updates can overwrite custom key profiles. Export your keymapping profile from the editor before updating (save icon in the keymapping panel) so you can restore it in a few clicks after any update.
