Pokémon UNITE on GameLoop PC: Setup, Controls & Keymapping Guide 2026
Pokémon UNITE is a 5v5 competitive MOBA and there is no PC client — GameLoop is the stable path. Because TiMi Studio developed it, GameLoop integration is tighter than for third-party titles. Here is the full setup.
Pokémon UNITE is a 5-versus-5 MOBA where players score goals rather than destroy a base. It was developed by TiMi Studio Group — the same studio behind Call of Duty: Mobile — and published through a partnership with The Pokémon Company. On mobile, the game uses a virtual joystick for movement and tap buttons for skills. On PC via GameLoop, WASD replaces the joystick and keys replace the tap buttons. The transition is clean.
There is no official Windows client. If you want to play on PC you have two options: Nintendo Switch (which has no keyboard support) or an Android emulator. GameLoop is the emulator most CODM players already have installed, and because TiMi is part of the same Tencent umbrella as GameLoop, the title appears natively in the Game Center catalog.
Install
- Open GameLoop and go to Game Center.
- Search "Pokémon UNITE". It should appear in the top results under Tencent/TiMi titles.
- Click Install. GameLoop pulls the Play Store build directly.
- On first launch, sign in with a Pokémon Trainer Club account or log in via your Nintendo Account. If you play on Switch, link your Nintendo Account there first and both versions will share your trainer level and currency.
- A guest login option exists but is not recommended — guest data is tied to the device and cannot be transferred.
First launch downloads a content pack. Let it complete before entering a match. The download is usually 800 MB to 1.2 GB depending on the current patch.
Controls on PC
On the mobile version, UNITE uses a floating joystick that appears wherever your thumb lands. On GameLoop, the joystick is replaced by WASD. The directional controls in a MOBA like UNITE feel more precise with WASD because your thumb never drifts off the virtual joystick center.
The skill layout on mobile has four positions at the bottom-right of the screen: basic attack and three skills. The UNITE Move — the game's ultimate ability — has its own dedicated button. GameLoop maps these to keyboard keys automatically.
Default suggested keymapping:
| Action | Default key |
|---|---|
| Move | WASD |
| Basic Attack | Q |
| Skill 1 (first assigned skill) | E |
| Skill 2 (second assigned skill) | R |
| UNITE Move (ultimate) | F |
| Score (deposit Aeos Energy in a goal) | Space |
| Recall to base | T |
| Jump pad / terrain ability | Depends on Pokémon |
| Map zoom | Scroll wheel |
| Tab — score tracker | Tab |
You can adjust all of these inside GameLoop's keymapping editor (the keyboard icon in the top toolbar during gameplay) or through the Smart Keymapping option in the GameLoop overlay.
The most important thing to check before your first match: the attack direction. In UNITE, basic attacks auto-target the nearest enemy. On mobile you aim by joystick direction; on PC by WASD direction. This is the same behavior — but confirm you have the UNITE auto-attack setting set to Always Attack or Smart Attack rather than requiring a manual button press each time. The setting is in the in-game menu under Controls → Battle → Auto Attack.
Performance settings
UNITE is a mid-range mobile title visually. It runs well on most hardware without tuning, but a few settings make a difference.
GameLoop settings:
- Resolution: 1920×1080 (the game supports it)
- Frame rate: 60fps
- Memory: 4096 MB allocation
- Rendering: DirectX 11
In-game graphics: open Settings → Graphics inside the game. Set Quality to High and Frame Rate to High (the game's internal setting, independent of GameLoop's frame rate cap). On high-refresh monitors you can push to 90fps or 120fps if the game's in-game option shows it — the mobile build caps at 60, but some emulator configurations unlock higher.
If you have a dedicated GPU, enable Hardware Acceleration in GameLoop's settings. This moves the rendering off the CPU and eliminates the stuttering that appears when many Pokémon are in frame during a teamfight.
On low-spec hardware: set in-game Quality to Medium, turn off shadows. UNITE has generous CPU usage patterns compared to CODM because the play area is smaller and there are fewer simultaneous animations at peak moments.
Audio fix
Pokémon UNITE uses a separate audio channel for battle sound effects. If you open the game and hear music but no skill sounds or voice lines, check GameLoop's audio routing: Settings → Audio → Use default audio device. Toggle it off and on. On some Windows 11 configurations, GameLoop's audio picks the wrong output device after an update.
If you play with headphones, also check in-game: Settings → Sound → Battle Effects. Some players accidentally set this slider to zero while exploring the menu.
Nintendo Account sync
If you also play UNITE on Nintendo Switch, linking your Nintendo Account means your progress is shared between both platforms:
- Trainer level carries over
- Aeos Coins and Gems carry over
- Cosmetics carry over
- Battle Pass progress carries over
What does NOT sync: in-game event rewards that were redeemed on the other platform first may not appear on the second. Check for unclaimed items in the Mailbox on each platform.
To link: from the title screen, select Sign In → Nintendo Account. You will be redirected to Nintendo's sign-in page in a browser window. Complete the login there and the game will associate your save.
What improves on PC
Skill precision. The joystick drift problem that affects mobile MOBA play does not exist with WASD. When you commit to a direction, the Pokémon moves exactly there. This is especially noticeable with dashes and aimed skills on Pokémon like Talonflame, Lucario, or Cinderace.
Situational awareness. The larger screen lets you see more of the map at once. You will catch rotations and incoming enemies earlier than you would on a 6-inch phone screen.
Teamfight readability. UNITE teamfights involve multiple Pokémon, multiple Unite Moves, and goal animations all triggering simultaneously. On a monitor, individual Pokémon models separate clearly. On a small phone screen they overlap and become harder to track.
Spam precision. Some score-baiting techniques require depositing Aeos Energy quickly when a defender retreats. On PC, you hit Space once per second reliably. On mobile, touch latency and palm coverage of the screen make this harder to execute consistently.
Common issues
Game crashes at the load screen: This is usually a memory allocation issue. In GameLoop settings, increase the RAM allocation to 4096 MB or higher. Pokémon UNITE loads all 10 Pokémon models and the map before a match starts, which is heavier than it looks.
Frame drops mid-teamfight: Enable hardware acceleration in GameLoop settings. If you already have it enabled and still see drops, reduce the in-game graphics quality from High to Medium. The Unite Move animations are deliberately over-the-top and hit the renderer harder than normal gameplay.
Keymapping resets after an update: This happens when GameLoop pushes a Smart Keymapping update for the title. Open the keymapping editor, re-verify your key assignments, and save. Saves persist between sessions once confirmed.
Cannot find the game in Game Center: If Pokémon UNITE does not appear in the search results, check your GameLoop version. The full Game Center catalog is only available in GameLoop 7.1 or later. Update GameLoop from its main menu if needed.
Pokémon not responding to key inputs during certain animations: UNITE has a brief input window at the end of some skills where movement is locked. This is intentional game behavior — it happens on mobile too but is more noticeable when you have dedicated keys and expect immediate response. It is not a GameLoop keymapping bug.
Is the account safe?
Pokémon UNITE's terms of service do not explicitly prohibit emulator use. The game was designed for Android and iOS, and GameLoop runs the Android build. Accounts accessed through GameLoop are not tagged differently from accounts accessed on an Android phone.
That said, exploiting game mechanics through input automation (auto-clickers, macros that play the game without user input) is a separate issue and does violate the terms. GameLoop's keymapping is a 1-to-1 key-to-button replacement — this is not automation and is comparable to a game controller. Playing with it is not a ban risk.
