Dragon Ball Legends on GameLoop PC: Keymapping, Settings, and Controls Guide

Dragon Ball Legends's swipe-and-tap combat translates well to keyboard and mouse if you map it correctly. Here is how to set it up and what to expect from PC play.

Dragon Ball Legends is Bandai Namco's 1v1 PvP fighter built around real-time card battles and the Dragon Ball licence. It is one of the most-played mobile fighting games with an active competitive scene, seasonal Story content, and regular character releases.

Bandai Namco does not publish a Windows client. On PC, GameLoop gives you a stable Android environment that runs the game at a fixed framerate, full resolution, and with keyboard and mouse controls replacing the swipe gestures.

Install

Dragon Ball Legends is in GameLoop's Game Center catalog. Open GameLoop, search "Dragon Ball Legends", and click Install. The game downloads the base APK from GameLoop's servers and then pulls the remaining game data on first launch — that second download is several hundred megabytes, so let it complete before entering a match.

After installation:

  1. Open the game and tap Guest / Bandai Namco ID login.
  2. If you play on mobile, use your Bandai Namco ID to sync your account. Go to Settings → Account → BNID in the mobile app first if you have not linked it.
  3. Guest accounts tied only to a device ID cannot transfer to PC. Link your account before switching platforms.

How the controls work

Dragon Ball Legends is gesture-first. Knowing what each gesture does helps you map it usefully:

Keymapping setup

Open the GameLoop keyboard editor — the keyboard icon in the top-right toolbar. Set these bindings:

Movement / Steps

  • Step left → A
  • Step right → D

Combat

  • Basic Attack card → Left mouse button (tap on card area)
  • Charge Ki → Hold Spacebar (long press maps to hold)
  • Rising Rush → R
  • Vanish → V (or a secondary mouse button if you have one)

Cards 1–3 (your arts panel): map to 1, 2, 3 for speed selection. This is the biggest advantage of PC play — selecting specific cards with number keys rather than tapping on a small phone screen.

Auto-battle (if you use it during grinding): map to F or another accessible key.

After setting bindings, save the layout with a name like "DBL Default." You can load saved profiles from the Keymapping menu on future sessions.

Performance settings

Dragon Ball Legends targets 60 fps, and the visual effects during Super attacks are GPU-heavy. Getting a stable framerate matters in PvP because the Vanish timing window is tight.

In GameLoop Settings → Engine:

  • Resolution: 1080p or your monitor's native resolution. The game upscales cleanly.
  • Frame rate: set GameLoop's cap to 60 fps. Higher than 60 does not help because the game's engine itself is capped.
  • Graphics quality: set to Medium or High in the game's own Settings → Graphics menu. Ultra at 60 fps is stable on most systems from the past four years.
  • CPU priority: set to High in GameLoop Engine settings for more consistent frame delivery during Rising Rush sequences.

Anti-aliasing in game: turn it on. Dragon Ball Legends' character models look noticeably cleaner at 1080p with AA enabled.

PC-specific advantages

Card selection speed. On mobile, drawing and selecting Arts cards under pressure means precise taps on small targets. With number keys, you pick cards without looking at the panel — 1 taps your first card, 2 your second, and so on. This becomes muscle memory quickly and makes card chaining in PvP more reliable.

Charge timing. Holding Spacebar to charge ki is more relaxed than pressing a phone screen. You can hold the charge while watching your opponent's movement without the fatigue of a sustained screen press.

Screen size. Character detail, card text, and the Vanish counter prompt are all easier to read on a monitor. The timing window for Vanish is narrow and the visual cue is subtle — on a larger screen, you see it earlier.

Session length. Playing for multiple ranked matches without battery heat or screen fatigue changes how long a session feels. Long grind sessions for events are more comfortable on PC.

Vanish mechanics and PC timing

Vanish is Dragon Ball Legends' defensive counter — tap it at the right moment after your opponent's attack to teleport behind them. The window is roughly 0.5 to 1 second. On mobile, tapping this under pressure during a combo chain is a reflex challenge. On PC with a keyboard key:

  • Set Vanish to a key your index finger rests on naturally (V, F, or Q depending on your layout).
  • Because you are already on keyboard for charge/steps, the Vanish keystroke does not require lifting your hand from the mouse.
  • Most players find Vanish timing slightly more reliable on PC once they have the key position learned — the decision becomes purely a timing read rather than a coordination problem.

Frequently asked questions

Does the game detect emulators and block you? Dragon Ball Legends currently does not ban GameLoop users, and Bandai Namco's anti-cheat does not target standard Android emulators. This is not a guaranteed permanent policy, but as of 2026 there are no reported bans for emulator use alone. Do not use speed mods or memory editors alongside GameLoop — those trigger detection.

Will my account carry over from mobile? Yes, through Bandai Namco ID (BNID). Link your mobile account to a BNID before playing on GameLoop. Transfers are lossless — all characters, Dragon Stones, and CC carry.

The game crashes during Super attacks. What should I do? Reduce the in-game graphics quality one step and restart. Rising Rush scenes allocate a significant GPU burst; if your system's VRAM is close to its limit, the shader load can cause a crash. Setting to Medium graphics with High resolution is usually stable even on modest hardware.

Can I play PvP against mobile players? Yes. The matchmaking pool is shared. PC players are not separated from mobile players.

The text in the Arts panel is blurry. This is a render scale issue in some GameLoop builds. In GameLoop Engine settings, set DPI to match your monitor's native setting, and enable Custom Resolution rather than leaving it on Auto. The card panel renders at a fixed internal resolution that needs the DPI hint to upscale correctly.

Summary

Dragon Ball Legends on GameLoop runs well, and the keymapping for a swipe-based fighter is cleaner than it first appears — steps become A/D, cards become number keys, and the Vanish counter becomes a single keystroke. If you have played on mobile and wanted more precision on card selection or Vanish timing, the PC setup delivers a noticeable improvement in both.

Install from Game Center, link your BNID account, map A/D for steps and 1/2/3 for cards, set the charge key to Spacebar, and set Vanish to a resting finger key. Everything else — Rising Rush, Arts chains, ki management — works the same as mobile.
