CODM S8 Mythic Armory Opens Sep 25 — How to Get Honkai Weapon Skins on GameLoop PC

The Mythic Armory returns with three Honkai Impact 3rd weapon skins on September 25. Here's what's in it, how CP draws work on PC, and which weapon to target.

The Mythic Armory is back for Season 8, and this time it's themed entirely around the Honkai Impact: Zero collaboration. Three weapons go into the Armory when it opens on September 25 — all Mythic tier, all locked to the Honkai aesthetic. Here's what you're drawing for, how the draw system works, and what to expect when navigating it on a PC.

What's in the S8 Mythic Armory

Activision has confirmed three weapons for this Armory cycle:

WeaponSkin NameType
Static-HVCore of FireSMG
BAL-27Core of ReasonAR
ISO HemlockCore of ThunderAR

All three are Mythic rarity — the highest tier in CODM, which means animated parts, reactive kill effects, and unique kill animations. Mythic skins don't appear anywhere else in the game outside of the draw that releases them.

A few things to note before drawing:

  • Static-HV is brand new in S8 — the Armory version is likely your only way to get a Mythic for it at launch.
  • ISO Hemlock is the free Battle Pass AR this season, so the Core of Thunder is a Mythic cosmetic upgrade on a weapon you may already own.
  • BAL-27 is a returning AR. Depending on how it performs in Week 3 meta, it may or may not be worth prioritizing.

Draw costs are not confirmed as of publication — this article will be updated when the Armory opens. Based on the Season 7 Mythic Armory, expect the range to sit between 4,000–10,000 CP for a guaranteed pull depending on draw pity.

How the Mythic Armory Draw System Works

If you haven't drawn from a Mythic Armory before, here's the structure:

Single draw: Costs CP (Call of Duty Points), pulled from a loot table. Each draw gives a random reward — but there's a pity system.

Pity guarantee: After a certain number of draws without pulling the Mythic weapon, the next draw is guaranteed to be the Mythic. This threshold varies by event. In recent Armorys it has been around 40 draws.

Selector: Each Armory lets you choose one of the three weapons as your target before you start. Your pity counter only counts toward that specific weapon. If you change targets mid-draw, the counter resets.

Selector advice: Commit before you start. If you want the Static-HV Core of Fire, lock it in before the first draw. Changing your mind after spending CP is expensive.

Which Weapon Should You Target?

This depends on what you're building toward, but here's a quick frame:

Static-HV Core of Fire — The case for this is novelty and scarcity. The Static-HV is S8's brand-new SMG, and a Mythic skin at launch means you're immediately set cosmetically if the weapon hits the meta. The counter-argument: the weapon is unproven. If Static-HV ends up being a fringe pick post-launch meta, you've spent heavy CP on a skin you won't use in ranked.

BAL-27 Core of Reason — The BAL-27 is a returning weapon that sits in a niche between SMG and AR range profiles. It's not a meta pick in S8 (no buffs in the S8 patch notes), but the Core of Reason skin is reportedly the highest-detail of the three. If you play the BAL-27 in casual/pubs and want a Mythic for it, this is your only near-term window.

ISO Hemlock Core of Thunder — The ISO Hemlock is S8's free AR via Battle Pass, which means almost everyone will own it by mid-season. A Mythic for a weapon the entire playerbase runs is high-visibility. The Core of Thunder is also the Honkai "Draw 1" weapon from the Free Mythic event (estimated Sep 11), so if you drew that, you already have the ISO Hemlock — but in its Base Mythic form, not the Armory Mythic variant.

Recommendation as of Sep 25: Wait 3–5 days after the Armory opens to see which weapon the community locks in as the S8 meta AR/SMG. If Static-HV is cracking into ranked, Core of Fire. If the ISO Hemlock is everywhere, Core of Thunder for visibility. If neither dominates, save CP for S8 mid-season or S9.

Drawing on GameLoop PC — What's Different

The Mythic Armory UI on PC via GameLoop is mostly identical to mobile, with a few things worth knowing:

Rendering the skin animations: Mythic draw animations are GPU-heavy. If GameLoop's renderer is in Low or Medium mode, the Armory preview carousel can stutter or drop frames. Before opening the Armory, set GameLoop's Performance Mode to Disable (Game Centre → Settings → Performance → Performance Mode: Off). This lets the GPU handle the draw animations without the frame cap getting in the way.

Full screen vs windowed: The Armory skin showcase is designed for a 16:9 frame. If you're running GameLoop in a non-standard resolution, the skin preview panels may be cropped. Switching to 1080p full screen for the draw session gives you the full visual reveal.

CP purchase on PC: If you're buying CP to draw, you'll go through the in-game CP store or the Call of Duty website — both work on PC. The GameLoop PC client doesn't add any purchase friction beyond the standard flow.

Input method during draws: Draws are tap-to-confirm on mobile but click-based on PC. There's no gameplay advantage here, but the confirm dialogue timing is the same. Don't rapid-click through it or you may confirm more draws than intended.

How to Prepare Before September 25

Check your CP balance now. If you're planning to draw to pity, you'll want 6,000–10,000 CP available as a safety buffer. Add up what you have and estimate what you'd need to purchase.

Decide your target weapon early. The Armory will ask you to choose before drawing. Make the decision before the event opens so you don't spend time deliberating while CP is burning.

Log in and claim any pending Battle Pass rewards. The ISO Hemlock is the Battle Pass free tier AR this season. Claiming it before the Armory opens means you'll have the base weapon ready to compare against the Core of Thunder Mythic preview.

Save your Free Mythic choice if you haven't made it. The Free Mythic event (which runs through September) also includes the ISO Hemlock as one of three weapon choices. If you want the Core of Thunder from the Armory, consider taking the BAL-27 or Static-HV from the Free Mythic event to avoid doubling up on weapons.

When the Armory Closes

Mythic Armory events are typically time-limited — 2 to 4 weeks. After the event ends, the three Honkai weapon skins rotate out of availability. They don't appear in bundles or as direct purchases afterward. If the Core of Fire, Core of Reason, or Core of Thunder interests you, the September 25 Armory is the window.
