CODM Season 8 "Against All Fate" download size on GameLoop PC

Call of Duty: Mobile Season 8 — "Against All Fate" — launches on September 9, 2026 at 5 PM PT (September 10, 00:00 UTC). Patch day is the worst time to find out your drive is full or that your GameLoop install has 8 GB of accumulated temporary files sitting on it. Clear the space before the servers open.

Expected update size

Based on the last four CODM major season updates on GameLoop PC, the Season 8 download is expected to be in the 3 – 4.5 GB range.

The Honkai Impact 3rd / Honkai: Star Rail crossover includes three full operator skins (Rin Yoshida, Siren, Kestrel) with unique animations and voice lines. Activision typically bundles premium crossover assets into the initial patch download rather than splitting them off as optional packs, which puts Season 8 toward the higher end of the range compared to a standard seasonal update.

Exact numbers will be confirmed when Activision publishes the official patch notes on or before September 3. The figures above are estimates based on recent season patterns.

Total CODM installation size after Season 8

After updating, a full CODM installation on GameLoop typically sits at 11 – 15 GB. This includes:

• The base game files and current season assets
• GameLoop's virtual Android environment (~1.5 GB, stored separately)
• Any in-game asset packs downloaded since your last cache clear

If you have been playing since Season 5 or earlier without clearing the cache, your actual footprint may be several GB higher than that range.

Check your disk space before the update

On Windows:

1. Open File Explorer → right-click the drive where GameLoop or TAC is installed (usually C:) → Properties
2. Look at Free space
3. You need at least 6 GB free to download and apply the update safely — the updater creates temporary files during unpacking that are deleted once the install completes, but they need room to exist first

Inside GameLoop:

1. Open GameLoop → gear icon (top right) → My Games → find CODM
2. Tap the three-dot menu next to CODM → Game Settings
3. The size listed is GameLoop's record of the installed APK and data. It does not include the temporary update cache GameLoop keeps separately.

How to clear space before patch day

Clear GameLoop's temporary cache (safe — does not touch your account or progress)

Your CODM progress is tied to your Activision account, not to local files. Clearing the cache does not log you out or reset anything.

1. Close GameLoop completely: right-click the tray icon → Exit
2. Open File Explorer and navigate to:

1. Select all files in the cache folder → Delete

1. Open GameLoop → gear icon → Tools → Device Cleaner
2. Run the scan and delete the flagged junk files

This is a lighter option — the manual AppData method above catches more accumulated files.

Free up Windows space separately

If your drive is generally low, use Windows' Disk Cleanup (Start menu search) and check Temporary files and Recycle Bin. Unrelated to GameLoop but often the fastest way to reclaim several GB quickly before the patch arrives.

How to update CODM on GameLoop or TAC

The update process is the same on both clients.

1. Open GameLoop or TAC → click the Game Center icon (home screen)
2. If the update is ready, you will see an Update button next to CODM. Click it.
3. If you do not see the button yet: tap the three-dot menu next to CODM → Check for Update
4. Wait for the download to finish. If you want to use the time, the update runs in the background; you do not need to keep the Game Center window open.
5. Once downloaded, tap Launch — the game will apply the patch on first boot, which takes about 60–90 seconds extra.

Best time to update: September 9 in the evening (US West Coast time) once the patch servers are fully loaded. Hitting Update at the exact moment the patch goes live (5 PM PT) can result in slow speeds as millions of players queue at the same time. Waiting 30–60 minutes costs nothing and is noticeably faster in practice.

If the update is stuck or slow

If the download stalls at 0 B/s or gets stuck at a percentage:

1. Pause and resume — tap the pause button next to the download bar, wait 5 seconds, resume. This often forces a new server connection.
2. Restart GameLoop — close fully (tray icon → Exit), reopen, check My Games. The download resumes from where it stopped.
3. Check your internet connection — pause any other large downloads or streams while the patch is running. CODM patches are large enough that background traffic noticeably slows them.
4. Try a VPN to a nearby server — if Activision's servers are overloaded in your region, a VPN to a different country's edge server can route around the congestion. Turn it off after the update downloads.

If you are completely out of space

The minimum headroom needed to download, unpack, and apply the Season 8 update is approximately 6 GB free. If your C: drive is under that:
