CODM Season 7 Terminated download size on GameLoop PC

How much space the Season 7 update takes, what to do if your drive is low, and how to have GameLoop ready before August 5.

Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7 — Terminated — launches on 5 August 2026. Before then, it is worth checking your disk space and clearing GameLoop's cache if you have been playing for a while. A full update day is the worst time to find out your drive is full.

Expected download size

Based on the last three CODM major seasons on GameLoop PC, the Season 7 update is expected to be in the 2.5 – 4 GB range. Season 6 was approximately 3.5 GB.

The exact number will not be confirmed until Activision publishes the patch notes on or before 5 August. If the Terminator crossover assets are fully bundled into the initial patch (rather than downloaded inside the game), the update may be on the larger end of that range.

Total CODM installation size after Season 7

After the update, a full CODM installation on GameLoop typically reaches 10 – 14 GB. This includes:

  • The base game files
  • Current season assets
  • GameLoop's virtual Android environment (stored separately, around 1.5 GB)

If you have been playing since Season 5 or earlier without ever doing a cache clear, the actual footprint may be higher due to accumulated temporary files.

How to check available space before the update

On Windows:

  1. Open File Explorer → right-click the drive where GameLoop is installed (usually C:) → Properties
  2. Check Free space
  3. You need at least 5 GB free to download and apply the update comfortably — the unpacker creates temporary files during installation

Inside GameLoop:

  1. Open GameLoop → click the settings gear (top right)
  2. Go to My Games → find CODM
  3. Tap the three-dot menu next to CODM → Game Settings
  4. The listed size is GameLoop's record of the APK and OBB. It does not include the temporary update cache.

How to free up space if your drive is low

Clear GameLoop's temporary cache

This is safe and does not delete your game progress. Progress is tied to your Activision account, not to local files.

  1. Close GameLoop completely (right-click the tray icon → Exit)
  2. Open File Explorer and go to: C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Tencent\GameLoop\Sdcard\Android\data\com.activision.callofduty.shooter\cache
  3. Select all files in that folder and delete them
  4. If the AppData folder is hidden: in File Explorer, click ViewShowHidden items

Use GameLoop's built-in cleaner

  1. Open GameLoop → click the settings gear
  2. Go to ToolsDevice Cleaner (or similar, label varies by version)
  3. Run the scan and delete flagged junk files

Free up Windows space separately

If your drive is generally full, use Windows Disk Cleanup (search for it in the Start menu) and check Temporary files and Recycle Bin. This is unrelated to GameLoop but is the fastest way to reclaim several GB quickly.

What not to delete

Do not uninstall CODM from GameLoop to free space and then reinstall it hoping that saves time. A reinstall downloads the full 10+ GB again, which takes much longer than a seasonal update.

Do not delete files from GameLoop\Sdcard\Android\obb\com.activision.callofduty.shooter\ — those are the game's main data files, and removing them forces a full re-download.

Pre-download

CODM does not currently offer a true pre-download that installs in the background before a season starts. The update appears in the game client at or after the patch time (5 PM PT on 5 August) and must be downloaded then.

What you can do:

  • Make sure you have enough free space before 5 August (see above)
  • Keep GameLoop open and the game launcher ready around the patch window
  • Once the in-game update prompt appears, start it immediately — the update download is faster in the first few hours before peak load
