How to update CODM to Season 7 on GameLoop PC

Where to find the Season 7 update in GameLoop, how long it takes, and what to do when it gets stuck.

Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7 — Terminated — drops on 5 August. On GameLoop, updating is not quite the same as on a phone — the process runs through the in-game updater rather than through GameLoop itself, and a few things can go wrong that do not happen on Android. This guide covers the exact steps.

Step 1 — Open GameLoop and launch CODM before the patch

Start the game once before the patch window (before 5 PM PT on 5 August) to confirm your GameLoop client is working. This catches any pre-existing issues — crashing, black screen, login loop — that have nothing to do with Season 7.

If something is already broken before the patch, fix it before the update, not after. Troubleshooting on launch day when millions of players are hammering servers is significantly harder.

Step 2 — Wait for the in-game updater to appear

When the Season 7 patch is live, you will see an update prompt the next time you open Call of Duty: Mobile through GameLoop. This prompt comes from the game, not from GameLoop itself.

You do not need to update GameLoop. There is no verified new GameLoop release for 2026. The newest build from an official channel dates to October 2025 and is the correct version to use.

Step 3 — Start the download early, not at the exact moment servers open

The first thirty to sixty minutes after a season goes live bring the heaviest server load. Download speeds are slowest during this window. If you start the update one or two hours after the announced time, you will typically finish faster than someone who queued at 5 PM PT.

Expected download size for a major season patch is 1–3 GB. Budget time accordingly on slower connections.

Step 4 — Disconnect your VPN before downloading

GameLoop and CODM use geo-routed content delivery. A VPN routes your traffic away from the nearest download node and consistently slows the update. Disconnect any VPN before starting the Season 7 download and reconnect afterwards if needed.

Step 5 — Let GameLoop stay open during the download

Do not close GameLoop or put your PC to sleep mid-download. The updater resumes where it left off if interrupted, but incomplete downloads sometimes corrupt the local package, requiring a fresh start from 0%.

If the download bar stops moving for more than five minutes, close and reopen CODM through GameLoop. In most cases this restarts the download and it continues from where it stopped.

After the update lands

Check your keybind layout immediately. Major patches reset custom keybinds to defaults. Before your first match, open Settings → Controls and restore any customised keys. If you exported a screenshot before the patch (see the day-one checklist), this takes under two minutes.

Reset your graphics settings if the game feels different. Season patches also reset the graphics preset. Go to Settings → Graphics and restore your preferred renderer (DX11 or DX9), resolution, and frame-rate cap.

Give the first session some slack on performance. The game compiles shaders silently in the background during the first session. Frame drops and brief stutters in the first match or two are normal and stop on their own. Do not immediately lower your settings — wait for the second session before judging performance.

If the update gets stuck at a specific percentage

Stuck at 0% or not starting: Check your internet connection. If you are on a VPN, disconnect it. Close CODM and reopen it through GameLoop.

Stuck mid-download (e.g. 47%): Close CODM, wait 30 seconds, reopen through GameLoop. The download usually resumes from the same point.

Update completes but game crashes on launch: Switch to the AOW 32-bit engine in GameLoop. A known crash affecting the AOW 64-bit engine in CODM was reported by GameLoop in December 2025 and has not been resolved. The 32-bit engine avoids this issue.

Update says "failed" with no explanation: This usually means the download was interrupted and the local file is corrupted. Close GameLoop completely, reopen it, launch CODM again, and let the updater re-check. It will identify the corrupted segment and re-download only that portion rather than starting from scratch.

What you should not do

Do not download "Season 7 GameLoop updates" from third-party sites. GameLoop does not distribute season patches separately — they arrive through the in-game updater. Files offered elsewhere are not from Tencent and cannot be verified.

Do not cancel the update mid-way to "speed it up." Partial downloads re-verify on next launch, which adds time rather than saving it.
