CODM Season 7 Terminated — Rebirth Island guide for GameLoop PC
Rebirth Island returned to CODM in Season 7 Terminated as the home of the new Lockdown Battle Royale mode. Here is how the map plays on GameLoop PC and how to tune your keymapping for its close-quarters tempo.
Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7 Terminated brought Rebirth Island back on 5 August 2026. This season the map is not just for classic Battle Royale — it is the dedicated arena for Season 7's new Lockdown mode. This guide covers how Rebirth Island changes the GameLoop PC experience and where a keyboard-and-mouse setup gives you an edge.
What Rebirth Island is
Rebirth Island is a significantly smaller Battle Royale map than the standard large-scale options in CODM. Tight corridors, dense building clusters, and sightlines that force close-to-mid-range engagements define the map's character.
The map's footprint changes several fundamentals:
- The safe zone shrinks faster. Distances to the centre are short, so circle pressure arrives early.
- Engagements come sooner. No matter where you land, contact happens quickly.
- Building combat is central. Staying in the open for extended periods carries far more risk than on larger maps.
Lockdown mode and Rebirth Island
What makes Rebirth Island prominent in Season 7 is Lockdown. The mode separates from standard Battle Royale in two key ways:
- Respawn is on. In standard BR, elimination ends your match. In Lockdown, you can return under certain conditions. This single difference rewrites the risk calculation from landing to the final circle.
- High-Value Zones. Specific areas of the map generate additional rewards while held. Survival is not the only goal — controlling these zones is part of winning.
The combination of the map's size and respawn mechanics means Lockdown matches run at a consistently faster tempo than standard BR.

Keymapping for Rebirth Island on GameLoop PC
Rebirth Island's close-quarters pace changes which keymapping priorities matter most.
Lean keys. Holding a narrow doorframe with a left or right lean happens far more often here than on large maps. Confirm that ADS Peek Left and ADS Peek Right are bound to keys your off-hand can reach without leaving WASD.
Quick looting. Because respawn is on in Lockdown, you can return after elimination — but you need to re-kit quickly at the respawn point. Make sure your item pickup key is accessible even in tight corridors where your movement keys are already working.
Weapon swap. Rebirth Island constantly oscillates between close and mid range. If you run two weapons for different ranges, your swap key should be fast enough to feel like a reflex.
Sensitivity. ADS sensitivity optimised for large-map long-range play can feel sluggish in Rebirth Island's close engagements. The Season 7 settings guide has baseline values; if you are playing Rebirth Island-heavy, consider stepping ADS sensitivity up one or two increments.
Performance notes for Rebirth Island
Rebirth Island is a smaller map, but interior geometry and fast-moving targets in tight spaces are not lighter on the GPU than large-map play.
Shadow quality: Shadows in narrow building corridors affect in-game visibility. Medium shadow quality balances clarity and performance on most hardware. Lower shadow quality makes enemies more visible in some corner positions — if performance is constrained, there is an actual gameplay reason to drop it here.
Frame rate priority: Fast Lockdown matches with sudden direction changes and close-range tracking benefit from consistently high frame rates more than from balanced graphic fidelity. The Season 7 performance guide identifies which setting changes deliver the most frames.
Overload class and Rebirth Island
Season 7 also introduced the Overload BR class, which fits Rebirth Island's close-quarters design. Overload's active skill, the Shock Stick, disrupts enemy positioning in the narrow corridors that define this map — useful for clearing building corners and forcing opponents into the open.
The Overload class guide walks through configuring the class skill key on GameLoop PC.
