CODM Season 7 Terminated ranked guide for GameLoop PC — how to climb

Ranked in CODM has specific rules about loadouts, modes, and ban phases. Playing on GameLoop gives you a consistent aim advantage — here is how to use it.

Ranked mode in Call of Duty: Mobile restricts what you can bring into a match and rotates through a defined set of game modes. The general rules stay consistent season to season, but Season 7 adjusts the weapon meta enough that a setup optimised for Season 6 may underperform. This guide covers what GameLoop-specific players need to know before queuing.

What ranked mode actually restricts

Ranked does not block emulator play — it restricts certain attachments and weapons that are considered overpowered or unfair in a competitive context. At the start of each season, a small list of weapons or attachments is either temporarily banned or added to the pick-ban phase.

Pick-ban (also called the ban phase) runs in Master rank and above. Both teams ban one weapon each from a pool of the current season's strongest options before the match begins. If you climb into the Master bracket, know which two or three weapons you want to ban and which primary you want to protect from being banned.

In lower ranks (Rookie through Legendary below Master), there is no ban phase — you play full lobbies with no restrictions beyond the seasonal weapon balance patch.

Why keyboard-and-mouse is an advantage in ranked

Ranked modes in CODM include Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Control, depending on the season. All three are objective-based modes where precision matters more than raw reaction time.

On GameLoop, you get:

  • Consistent aim with no thumb-fatigue accumulation over a multi-hour session
  • Accurate long-range shots that become harder for mobile players as session length increases
  • Free-look capability that lets you check flanks without moving your character, something touch controls make awkward

The trade-off is that GameLoop does not improve your game-sense, timing, or ability to read the enemy team's rotations — those are the same regardless of input device. The skill floor is higher in ranked, and the players who consistently climb have good game-sense as the primary skill, not just aim.

Setting up for ranked in Season 7

Loadout priorities

For Hardpoint and Control, a versatile medium-range class performs best. The meta at the start of each season tends to favour the previous season's most-polished weapons before the new additions are properly attached.

A practical starting class for Season 7 ranked:

  • Primary: Carry your Season 6 reliable pick into the first week. The new weapons (Hades LMG, Striker 45) will not have optimal attachment combinations available immediately.
  • Secondary: A pistol or launcher depending on whether your squad needs explosive utility.
  • Perks: Double Time (extended tactical sprint for objective movement), Ghost (removes you from enemy UAVs), and Alert or Tracker depending on whether you favour information or pursuit.
  • Lethal: Thermite for Hardpoint (denies objective stands); Frag for Search and Destroy where a timer can be used.
  • Tactical: Flashbang for Search and Destroy. Smoke for Control defence.

Keyboard configuration for ranked modes

Ranked mode requires faster mode-switching than casual play. Make sure these are reachable without lifting your hand from WASD:

  • Reload: R (default, keep it)
  • Interact / Capture: F — this covers capturing Hardpoints and planting/defusing in S&D
  • Jump: Space
  • Prone: Z or left Control (choose one and be consistent)
  • Grenade: G
  • Scorestreak 1, 2, 3: Assign to easy-reach keys; K, J, and H work for most grip styles

The most common ranked mistake GameLoop players make is not having scorestreaks on quick keys. In a ranked match, a UAV or Counter-UAV used five seconds faster than you could pull it up can change the result of a Hardpoint round.

Search and Destroy on GameLoop

S&D is a single-life mode. No respawns mean one death ends your round. This is where GameLoop's aim precision has the highest value.

Key S&D adjustments:

  • Lower your ADS sensitivity slightly for slower, more deliberate tracking. In S&D you are not rushing objectives; you are holding angles.
  • Play for sound — use headphones and ensure GameLoop's audio is routed correctly (Settings → Audio → Sound in GameLoop, not Windows audio compression). Footstep audio in S&D is the most reliable way to track enemy positions without exposing yourself.
  • Plant and defuse timing: The plant timer in ranked is 5 seconds. The defuse timer is 5 seconds. Learn to cut defuse attempts at 4.5 seconds and hold rather than completing the animation into a grenade.

Climbing efficiently

The most consistent way to climb in ranked is to play one mode and learn its maps well. The rotation of ranked modes in Season 7 follows a fixed playlist — identify the mode you consistently perform in and queue at times when that mode is in rotation.

GameLoop gives you the aim. Game knowledge — where enemies rotate after a plant, which Hardpoint position to pre-throw a thermite on, when to call a UAV in Control — is the part you build through match time. Focus one mode until you understand it, then expand.

Ranked release timing

Season 7 ranked is expected to open within the first 48 hours after the season launches on 5 August. Season 7 does not yet have an official name. We will update this article with the confirmed name and any ranked-specific rule changes once the patch notes are published.
