CarX Street on PC with GameLoop: Controls, Settings, and Setup Guide
CarX Street is one of the most realistic mobile racing games available. You can run it on PC through GameLoop or BlueStacks — and a steering key setup makes it noticeably more consistent than touchscreen.
CarX Street is an open-world street racing game by CarX Technologies. The physics model is built around momentum and weight transfer — you feel the car sliding through corners rather than snapping to the racing line. It is free to play on Android and iOS, and it has no native PC version.
That last point is the reason this page exists. GameLoop runs Android apps, and CarX Street is an Android app. Getting it running on PC takes about ten minutes. Getting it driving well takes another five to sort out the controls.
Does CarX Street appear in GameLoop Game Center?
Sometimes. GameLoop's Game Center prioritises Tencent titles (CODM, PUBG Mobile), but the catalogue also includes third-party games. If CarX Street appears in your region's Game Center, install from there — it handles updates automatically and places a clean shortcut on the home screen.
If it does not appear, the APK route works just as well. Download the APK from a trusted source such as the Google Play web installer (if you have a browser with Play Store access) or APKPure, then open GameLoop, click the APK button in the top-right, and browse to the file. GameLoop installs it into the same Android environment, and the result is identical.
Install
- Open GameLoop.
- Search "CarX Street" in Game Center. If it appears, click Install.
- If it does not appear, click the APK icon in the top-right corner, select your downloaded APK, and confirm.
- First launch will download about 2–4 GB of game data depending on region and version. This is not a stuck loading screen — it is downloading.
- Sign in with a Google account or play as a guest. Guest progress is device-local and cannot be transferred; signing in backs your garage and progression.
Why PC improves CarX Street
The main interaction in CarX Street is steering — and steering with a touchscreen means covering part of your view with your thumbs. On PC, the wheel area is replaced by keyboard keys or a mapped joystick axis, and the full screen stays visible.
A second reason is temperature. CarX Street is GPU-intensive by mobile standards. On a phone with insufficient cooling, sustained play causes thermal throttling, which drops framerates during long sessions. A gaming PC or even a mid-range laptop does not have this problem.
Control mapping
CarX Street maps well to a keyboard. The game registers analog inputs, so GameLoop's virtual joystick keymapping gives you smooth steering rather than binary snap-left / snap-right.
Open Keyboard Control from the GameLoop toolbar once the game is running. This guide uses a common racing layout:
| Function | Recommended key |
|---|---|
| Steer left | A (or Left Arrow) |
| Steer right | D (or Right Arrow) |
| Throttle | W (or Up Arrow) |
| Brake / reverse | S (or Down Arrow) |
| Handbrake | Space |
| Nitro | Shift |
| Camera | Mouse drag (right-click hold) |
| Look behind | C |
For the steering axis, place a Joystick zone on the virtual steering wheel in the game interface. Set the joystick center on the wheel, and bind A and D to the left and right axis. This gives analog steering — the further you hold the key, the more the wheel turns. It is smoother than a simple tap-press.
The handbrake on Space is important in CarX Street because initiating a drift requires a hard rear-lock. Practice triggering throttle and handbrake together on corner entry.
Performance settings
CarX Street is one of the heavier mobile games by rendered triangle count. In GameLoop settings:
- RAM allocation: Set to at least 4 GB. 6 GB is better for long sessions.
- CPU threads: 4 or more.
- Resolution: 1280×720 runs CarX Street smoothly on most hardware. 1920×1080 is achievable on a discrete GPU; integrated graphics may struggle above 720p.
- Frame rate cap: CarX Street targets 60 fps on capable hardware. If you see frame drops, reduce resolution before lowering graphics settings — the visual difference at 720p vs 1080p is less noticeable on a race course than stuttering is.
Inside the game, go to Settings → Graphics. On PC through GameLoop, you can typically run High quality without the thermal penalties you would hit on a phone. If frames drop on city sections (more geometry, more draw calls), lower Shadow quality first — it has the largest per-frame cost.
The open world and driving modes
CarX Street's map is a single large city. You drive freely at any time and join races from waypoints on the map. Races come in three forms: sprint, circuit, and drift events.
Sprint and circuit races reward clean lines and early braking. Drift events score based on angle, speed, and sustained slide length — this is where the physics model becomes interesting. A clean drift in CarX Street requires real trail braking: lift throttle, brake to transfer weight, turn in, then catch the slide with counter-steer and throttle modulation.
On keyboard, the counter-steer is the A or D key. The reflex is fast once the muscle memory builds. Some players find keyboard more consistent for drift events than touchscreen precisely because the steer input is not ambiguous — A is left, D is right, no thumb position tracking.
Controller support
CarX Street supports Bluetooth gamepads on Android. Through GameLoop on PC, you can use a wired controller (USB) or a Bluetooth gamepad paired to the PC. If GameLoop detects a connected controller, it routes the gamepad input directly to the Android app.
A gamepad changes the experience significantly. The left stick provides true analog steering, and the shoulder buttons give independent throttle and brake axes. If you have a controller, try it — it is the closest to a proper racing game feel.
If GameLoop does not pass your controller input, check Settings → Gamepad in GameLoop and confirm that controller support is enabled for the active app.
Troubleshooting
Game launches to a black screen: Close and relaunch. If the black screen persists, go to GameLoop Settings → Performance → and lower the renderer. Some combinations of GameLoop build and GPU driver produce a black screen at launch that resolves with a renderer downgrade.
Stuttering in open world: The city sections involve streaming geometry. If you see periodic hitches on GameLoop, increase RAM allocation to 6 GB or more, and close other applications to free system RAM.
Game crashes after loading: This usually means the APK version does not match the installed OBB data. Uninstall the game inside GameLoop (not from Windows — from GameLoop's app management), delete the APK from your downloads folder, and reinstall from a fresh download.
Controls not registering: Open the in-game Settings → Controls menu and confirm the game is in "keyboard" mode rather than "tilt" mode. Tilt mode uses device orientation data that GameLoop does not provide.
Steering is too sharp: In the keymapping editor, reduce the joystick radius. A smaller radius increases sensitivity; a larger radius requires more key travel before the wheel reaches full lock. Most players prefer a medium radius for city driving and a tighter radius for drift events.
What GameLoop adds
The concrete list:
- Full screen on a large monitor without any thumb obstruction
- No thermal throttling in long sessions
- Mouse-accurate camera rotation for free-drive exploration
- Keyboard steering that is repeatable race to race
- Controller option through USB or Bluetooth passthrough
CarX Street's physics make it worth the setup time. It is not a simplified arcade racer — corner speed matters, braking distance matters, and the cars behave like they have mass. Playing it on a screen you can actually see, with controls you can repeat, makes that underlying simulation more readable.
