RUS-79U settings for GameLoop PC — CODM Season 7 SMG guide

The RUS-79U arrives in Season 7 as a free earnable SMG. On GameLoop the fire-rate and ADS behaviour differ from mobile. These are the settings that fix both.

Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7 adds the RUS-79U — an SMG with a high fire rate and its Legendary Mystical Lamp variant earnable from the Secret Cache event. On mobile the weapon rewards fast swipe play. On GameLoop PC, the same play style produces overswing: your mouse tracking outruns the recoil pattern and shots spray wide on entry. The fix is specific and takes about two minutes to apply.

What changes on GameLoop versus mobile

On mobile, your thumb's physical range limits how fast you can swipe. The RUS-79U's high fire rate stays manageable because the screen constrains your tracking speed.

On GameLoop, the mouse has no such limit. You can move the reticle across the screen in a few milliseconds. At close range — where SMGs live — this speed becomes a liability. You flick to a target, pass it, and your first burst goes through empty air.

The solution is not a lower DPI. Lowering DPI makes everything feel slow and costs you recovery speed when you need to re-engage. The solution is tuning your ADS sensitivity multiplier specifically for hip-to-ADS transitions at short range.

Settings for the RUS-79U on GameLoop

Start from these values and adjust by one step if something feels off:

SettingValue
Mouse DPI800
In-game sensitivity (hip)90
ADS sensitivity (non-scoped)65
Fire keyLeft click (continuous-hold)
ADS keyRight click (hold)

The hip-fire sensitivity at 90 rather than the typical 100 gives you a slightly tighter close-range response without slowing your overall game feel. One step down from your default is usually enough.

Fire key binding — the most common setup error

The RUS-79U is designed for held-trigger fire, not tap-fire. On mobile, holding your thumb down is natural. On GameLoop, if your Smart Tool is configured for tap-to-fire (single click = burst), you will either get one-tap bursts or you will rapid-click and build input lag at the exact moment you need sustained fire.

Check your fire binding before your first match. In the GameLoop key mapper, look for the Auto Fire / Hold Fire toggle. Set it to Hold so that holding left-click fires continuously. This is the setting that matches how the weapon is meant to be used.

If you are using a custom key layout rather than Smart Tool defaults: find your fire key, confirm it is set to Hold behaviour, and verify that it does not conflict with an ADS binding on the same key.

Attachment build for PC play

The standard mobile meta for the RUS-79U is built around maximising TTK (time-to-kill) at the cost of some range and sprint-to-fire recovery. On GameLoop, sprint-to-fire recovery matters less because keyboard movement does not produce the same weapon-raise delay that thumb-based movement creates on mobile.

Prioritise these attachment slots:

Barrel — choose the option that reduces horizontal recoil. The RUS-79U's horizontal spread is the first thing you will notice on PC, where you can feel every deviation.

Stock — ADS speed. Faster ADS-to-hip transitions help when engagements switch range mid-fight.

Magazine — 45-round extended. The high fire rate drains a 30-round base magazine in roughly 1.8 seconds of sustained fire. A reload mid-fight at close range is a loss.

Leave one slot for a grip tape that reduces vertical recoil — your second priority after horizontal.

How to test this in-game

Use the practice range: Custom Game → Training → Practice Range. Do not spend a ranked match calibrating.

  1. Stand 10 metres from a target, ADS and hold fire. If you visibly drift off the upper-right quadrant of the target, your horizontal recoil attachment is not installed or not the right one.
  2. Fire a burst at 15 metres from the hip. If more than one round per burst misses, your hip sensitivity is too high. Drop it by 5 and repeat.
  3. Hold fire while strafing left. If the target disappears before you reach edge of your intended range, your magazine is too small.

Each test isolates one variable. Change one setting, re-test, and note what changed. This prevents the loop where you adjust multiple things and can no longer tell what helped.

Season 7 note

Season 7 launches 5 August. Weapon stats above are based on pre-launch test-build data. Final attachment unlock levels and exact stat values will appear in the patch notes on launch day. The PC-specific guidance — sensitivity tuning, fire binding, ADS behaviour — is not stat-dependent and will remain correct regardless of tuning changes.
