CODM Season 8 "Against All Fate" — Everything GameLoop PC Players Need to Know

New weapons, Honkai Impact 3rd collab, free Mythic event, Roguelike mode, and ranked meta shifts — all in one place for emulator players.

Season 8 "Against All Fate" arrives September 9, 2026. It is the largest content drop since Season 7 — a Honkai Impact 3rd collaboration that runs through the Battle Pass, a new co-op Roguelike multiplayer mode, a new Battle Royale POI, two new weapons, a free Mythic weapon event, and a balance patch that reshuffles the ranked meta.

This hub collects everything relevant for players on GameLoop PC emulator: verified facts, PC-specific notes for the new content, and links to each in-depth guide as they publish during the season.

What Is New in Season 8

Two New Weapons

ISO Hemlock AR — the free tier Battle Pass AR, unlocked for every player who logs in this season. Pre-launch profiling (confirmed from multiple sources) describes it as a mid-range AR with high damage and low recoil. If that holds, it fills the same role as the Krig 6 and will appear constantly in ranked lobbies regardless of whether it is strong. Build a counter to it from day one.

Static-HV SMG — the Challenge Pass SMG. A 50-round magazine and aggressive fire rate are confirmed. Its in-game viability for ranked play is unconfirmed until the first week of data is in. Check community results on day 3–5 before committing to a build.

Dingo — Diamond Oracle LMG — a Prestige Weapon added this season. Not a ranked meta weapon but relevant for players grinding through weapon camos.

Honkai Impact 3rd Collaboration

The Honkai collab is the visual theme of S8, touching multiplayer operators, Battle Royale, weapon blueprints, and a dedicated event track.

Mythic weapon series (Honkai Impact 3rd Mythic Armory):

  • Static-HV Core of Fire
  • BAL-27 Core of Reason
  • ISO Core of Thunder

Three Honkai operator draws, launching on consecutive days:

  • Draw 1 (~Sep 11): Rin Yoshida — Herrscher of Thunder (pairs with ISO Core of Thunder)
  • Draw 2 (~Sep 12): Siren — Herrscher of Flamescion (pairs with Static-HV Core of Fire)
  • Draw 3 (~Sep 13): Kestrel — Herrscher of Reason (pairs with BAL-27 Core of Reason)

Honkai Mythic Armory items unlock Sep 25 and include a Katana, Nail Gun, FHJ, and Scythe blueprint. These are cosmetic weapon blueprints in the collab's visual style.

PC note: New heavy-animation operators (like the Honkai series) typically spike lobby GPU usage by 10–15%. If you see frame drops in the pre-match lobby, reduce Graphics Quality one step in GameLoop settings before entering a match. In-match performance is usually unaffected.

Free Mythic Weapon Event (Starts Sep 11)

Every player can earn one free Mythic weapon by completing weekly missions. The three choices are the same three from the Mythic Armory: Core of Fire (Static-HV), Core of Reason (BAL-27), or Core of Thunder (ISO). You can change your selection before completing the final milestone — no penalty for switching early.

The specific weekly task list is only visible in-game from Sep 11. Holiday Login Rewards starting Oct 1 speed up progression for players who have not yet completed it.

Roguelike Multiplayer Mode (New)

A co-op mode for up to 3 players built around wave combat:

  • Fight waves of enemies → reach a final boss
  • Three maps at different difficulty levels
  • Elite Chests drop during runs: Weapon Traits, Stigmata, Chips
  • XP rewards throughout

PC note: This mode is stationary hold-and-defend playstyle at its peak — exactly where GameLoop PC players have an advantage over mobile. Mouse precision on Elite Chest UI interactions and wave-to-wave weapon swapping is faster on a keyboard setup than on touch controls.

Quantum Platform POI (Battle Royale — Isolated)

A limited-time Honkai-themed POI added to the Isolated battle royale map. The mechanic:

  1. Pick up a contract in the area
  2. Defend a teleporter while it charges (timed defend)
  3. Squad enters the portal
  4. Fight through Honkai-themed enemies
  5. Reach the Quantum Platform for high-quality loot

PC note: The defend-the-teleporter phase is a setup-and-hold fight, not a mobile-swiping advantage scenario. Emulator players who can coordinate keybindings for the contract interaction and the defend phase are competitive here.

Balance Changes — Short Version

The balance patch nerfs two widely-used S7 weapons and buffs several that were underused. The full ranked meta impact:

Nerfed:

  • AS VAL (burst/auto): fire rate reduced, mid-range damage window narrowed from 35m to 13m wide. The gun that dominated S7 is punished at ranges where it used to dominate.
  • FSS Hurricane (SMG): sprint speed 6.41 m/s → 6.26 m/s. The aggressive mobility SMG is slightly slower on repositions; LAPA now competes more directly for the close-range ranked slot.

Buffed:

  • LAPA — damage profile raised across all tiers. The best SMG choice for S8 ranked.
  • Krig 6 — new damage tier at 10m, second damage range extended. Reliable AR that becomes the safe default.
  • FFAR 1 — initial range expanded; stomach multiplier added. Aggressive AR for close-mid gunfights.
  • SKS — arm damage 48→54; recoil and spread tightened. Sniper meta is more playable in S8.
  • M21 EBR — range 62M→65M; significant damage buffs. May be the strongest sniper for emulator this season.

Quick-Start for PC Players Returning This Season

If you played S7 and are logging in on Sep 9:

  1. Claim the ISO Hemlock from the free Battle Pass track immediately — it is yours for logging in.
  2. Start the Free Mythic event (opens Sep 11) — pick your weapon early; you can change it before completing the final milestone.
  3. Update your ranked loadout: drop AS VAL as your primary AR; LAPA is the S8 replacement for close-range work.
  4. Check GameLoop for a new update — S8 content requires the latest GameLoop version; launch the client before queuing and let it update.
  5. Lower lobby graphics one step if you run an older GPU — new Honkai operators are visually heavy and may drop your lobby FPS.
