How to Record and Stream CODM on GameLoop PC (2026)
GameLoop has a built-in recorder, but OBS gives you better control over quality, audio mixing, and streaming. This guide covers both options, including fixes for the most common issues — missing audio, game lag during capture, and black screen in OBS.
Recording Call of Duty: Mobile on GameLoop PC is straightforward once you pick the right capture method. GameLoop's built-in recorder works for quick clips. For streaming or longer sessions, OBS is the better tool. This guide covers both.
Option 1: GameLoop's built-in recorder
GameLoop includes a built-in recording toolbar on the right side of the emulator window. This is the fastest way to clip a gameplay moment.
How to use it:
- Launch GameLoop and start a match in CODM.
- On the right-side toolbar (the collapsible panel), click the Record icon (looks like a camera or video icon).
- Press the button to start recording. The icon turns red.
- Press it again to stop. The clip is saved automatically.
Where recordings are saved:
Clips go to your Windows user folder: C:\Users\[YourName]\Videos\TxGameAssistant\ or, on some versions, directly to your desktop. GameLoop may also ask you to choose a save location the first time you record.
Limitations of the built-in recorder:
- Video quality is fixed — you cannot adjust bitrate or resolution independently
- No separate microphone input: it captures game audio only
- No direct streaming to Twitch or YouTube — exports a video file only
- Maximum clip length varies by GameLoop version (typically 3–10 minutes before auto-split)
For streaming or high-quality recordings, use OBS instead.
Option 2: OBS Studio — setup for GameLoop
OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) gives you full control: custom bitrate, audio mixing, multiple scenes, and direct streaming to Twitch, YouTube, or any RTMP destination.
Step 1: Install OBS
Download OBS from the official site (obsproject.com) and install it. Make sure you have a recent version — older OBS versions can produce black screen when capturing GameLoop.
Step 2: Add a Game Capture or Window Capture source
In OBS, in the Sources panel at the bottom:
- Click the + button → choose Game Capture or Window Capture.
Game Capture (recommended for CODM):
- Set Mode to "Capture specific window"
- In the Window dropdown, select
GameLoop.exeor the GameLoop window title - Enable "Allow Transparency" if the GameLoop window has transparent overlays
Window Capture (fallback):
- Select the GameLoop window from the dropdown
- This method always works, even if Game Capture can't detect GameLoop
If the OBS preview shows a black screen, see the fixes section below.
Step 3: Add audio sources
By default, OBS captures Desktop Audio (all system sound). For CODM gameplay:
- Desktop Audio → captures GameLoop game sound automatically — keep this enabled
- Mic/Auxiliary → your microphone for commentary — add this source if you want your voice in the stream
To isolate only GameLoop audio (and not other PC sounds):
- Right-click Desktop Audio → Properties → change it to the specific audio device GameLoop outputs to
- Or use the Application Audio Capture source (OBS 27+): set it to the GameLoop process
Step 4: Set output quality
Go to OBS → Settings → Output:
For recording (file to disk):
- Recording Quality: "High Quality, Medium File Size" (good default)
- Encoder: x264 (software) or NVENC/AMF (GPU-accelerated — better performance, requires NVIDIA/AMD GPU)
- Format: MP4 (most compatible)
For streaming (Twitch/YouTube):
- Video Bitrate: 4500–6000 kbps for 1080p60; 2500–3500 kbps for 720p60
- Encoder: NVENC or AMF if available (much less CPU usage than x264)
- Stream Key: paste from your Twitch/YouTube dashboard
Step 5: Set resolution and framerate
Go to OBS → Settings → Video:
- Base (Canvas) Resolution: match your monitor (usually 1920×1080)
- Output (Scaled) Resolution: 1920×1080 for full HD, or 1280×720 if your PC is under load
- Common FPS Values: 60 (best for CODM gameplay)
Fixing common problems
Black screen in OBS when capturing GameLoop
This is the most common issue. Try these in order:
Fix 1 — Run OBS as Administrator. Right-click the OBS icon → "Run as administrator". GameLoop's virtualization layer sometimes blocks capture unless OBS has elevated permissions.
Fix 2 — Switch from Game Capture to Window Capture. Game Capture uses DirectX hook injection, which can fail with emulators. Window Capture (GDI) is more reliable for GameLoop.
Fix 3 — Set GameLoop to Compatibility rendering mode. In GameLoop → Settings → Engine → switch to "Compatibility". Performance mode uses a rendering path that OBS cannot capture without display capture.
Fix 4 — Use Display Capture as a last resort. In OBS Sources → add Display Capture → select your monitor. This captures everything on screen (not just GameLoop), but it always works.
No audio in the recording
- Make sure Desktop Audio is enabled in OBS (not muted in the Audio Mixer panel)
- Check Windows Sound settings: ensure GameLoop's audio is going to the same output device that OBS is monitoring
- In OBS Audio Mixer → confirm GameLoop audio shows activity (the green bar moves during gameplay)
Game lags when OBS is running
GameLoop is CPU-heavy on its own. Running OBS on the same CPU causes contention.
- In OBS → Settings → Output → switch Encoder from x264 to NVENC (NVIDIA) or AMF (AMD). GPU encoding offloads the work from your CPU.
- Lower OBS output resolution to 1280×720 during gameplay, upscale to 1080 only for the stream
- In GameLoop Settings → Engine → reduce the emulator's CPU Core Count by one — give OBS some breathing room
- Close all non-essential apps (browser tabs, Discord video, etc.) while streaming
Tips specific to CODM
Use GameLoop's "Window Mode" for better capture reliability. In GameLoop → Display → set to Windowed mode. Fullscreen exclusive mode can interfere with both OBS capture and the game overlay.
Frame cap the game. In CODM Graphics settings, cap the frame rate to 60 FPS. Running uncapped while also encoding wastes CPU/GPU and causes frame drops in the recording.
Overlay the mini-map and scoreboard. If you plan to share the recording, crop the GameLoop chrome (the emulator toolbar) out of the OBS canvas. In OBS, right-click the source → Filters → add a Crop/Pad filter to trim the emulator UI from the frame edges.
Stream delay for ranked. If you're streaming ranked matches live, add a 30-60 second stream delay in OBS (Settings → Advanced → Stream Delay). This prevents opponents from watching your position in real time.
Both methods work. GameLoop's built-in recorder is fine for clips under 5 minutes when you want zero setup. OBS is the right choice for anything you plan to share, archive at quality, or broadcast live.
