Evony: The King's Return on GameLoop PC — Setup, Keymapping, and Alliance War Guide

Evony has no standalone Windows client. GameLoop is the clean path to a full keyboard-and-mouse experience — and for a game built around map coordination and troop marching, the upgrade from thumbs to a mouse is immediate.

Evony: The King's Return is a 4X strategy game developed by TOP Games Inc. You build a medieval city, train seven troop types across four tiers, research a deep tech tree, and coordinate with alliance members in real-time territory wars, Server vs. Server battles, and Boss Hunt events. The game was designed around frequent short interactions — construction queues, research timers, troop marches, and alliance reinforcements create a constant rhythm of checking in throughout the day.

TOP Games does not publish a standalone Windows client for Evony. On PC, an Android emulator is the only practical route. GameLoop supports Evony through its Game Center catalog.

Why Play Evony on PC

The world map rewards a wide view. Evony's map is dense: alliance territory tiles, resource nodes (food, lumber, stone, ore), monster spawn points, boss event locations, and enemy city positions all compete for your attention during active play windows. On a monitor you can see territory shifts happening in real time without losing the overview by zooming in to tap.

Mouse precision is faster for repeated actions. Scouting multiple tiles in sequence, dispatching rally troops, gathering from resource tiles, and activating multiple alliance helps all involve rapid sequential taps. A mouse covers these without the missed-tap risk of a finger on a small display.

No battery drain during Server vs. Server. SvS battles and Alliance War events encourage staying online for extended windows — sometimes several hours. Running on PC removes the battery constraint that limits how long a phone player can realistically participate.

Multi-instance for alt accounts. Many Evony players maintain secondary accounts on the same server to feed resources or Gems to their main city. GameLoop's multi-instance feature lets you run two accounts in separate windows simultaneously.

System Requirements

Evony was designed to run on Android phones from 2017–2022. It is not graphically intensive.

ComponentMinimumRecommended
CPUIntel Core i3 (6th gen+)Intel Core i5 / Ryzen 5
RAM4 GB (single instance)8 GB (two instances)
GPUIntegrated graphicsAny dedicated GPU
Storage5 GB free15 GB free (two instances)
OSWindows 10 (64-bit)Windows 10/11 (64-bit)

If your machine runs CODM at 60fps, Evony will run without friction.

Install

  1. Open GameLoop and search "Evony" in the Game Center tab.
  2. Select the result published by TOP Games Inc. and install. GameLoop pulls the Play Store version.
  3. Launch the game. On first run it downloads a patch — let this complete before logging in.
  4. Sign in with your existing account. Evony supports Facebook, Apple, Google, and email sign-in. If you play on mobile on a guest account, link it to a social account in the mobile app before opening GameLoop. Guest progress cannot be recovered on a new device without that link.

TOP Games does not restrict or flag accounts for using emulators. Alliance rankings and event leaderboards treat GameLoop players identically to mobile players.

Keymapping

Evony is a tap-based strategy game — the default mouse mapping covers most routine actions. Left-click fires a tap, scroll zooms the world map, and click-drag pans across the territory.

The following custom binds reduce mouse travel during high-activity windows like SvS marches and Boss Hunt schedules:

ActionSuggested binding
Tap / selectLeft mouse button
Back / closeEscape or right mouse button
Zoom mapScroll wheel
Pan mapClick-drag
Quick march (rally, gather, reinforce)Assign to keys near your left hand
Open City (quick return)Keyboard shortcut (e.g., H)
Alliance Help (mass collect)One dedicated shortcut
Speed-up menuClick the active queue timer

Open GameLoop's Keyboard Mapping tool (the controller icon in the right sidebar), select Evony from the active game panel, and assign keys to the onscreen buttons you tap most during a session. The mapping saves per-game.

During Boss Hunt or SvS, you will be clicking the same three or four buttons repeatedly for several minutes. A few keybinds here meaningfully cut the time per cycle and reduce wrist strain over a long session.

Multi-Instance for Alt Accounts

Running a second Evony account requires a second emulator instance:

  1. From the GameLoop home screen, click Multi-Instance Manager (the grid icon in the sidebar).
  2. Create a new instance. Name it clearly — "Alt" or the account number — so the windows are distinguishable at a glance.
  3. Install Evony inside the new instance from its Game Center.
  4. Sign in to the alt account. This is a fully isolated emulator environment — different app data, different session, different login.

With two instances running, you can run construction and research on the alt while monitoring alliance chat and march alerts on the main. Both windows respond to mouse input independently.

RAM: Two Evony instances use approximately 3–4 GB of RAM under normal load. 8 GB of system memory is comfortable; 4 GB may cause slowdowns during Boss Hunt or SvS events when both instances are actively refreshing.

Performance Settings

Open the GameLoop settings panel (gear icon, top-right corner of the emulator), then go to Engine.

  • Resolution: 1280×720 is the standard for Evony. The game's UI was designed for tablet-class screens; higher resolutions do not improve the visual experience meaningfully but do increase GPU and RAM usage. Leave this at 720p unless you have a dedicated GPU and want sharper text.
  • FPS cap: 30fps is sufficient. Evony's gameplay loop does not benefit from higher frame rates — there is no twitch input, and animations do not affect outcomes.
  • CPU cores / RAM allocation: 2 cores and 2 GB per instance is adequate for Evony. Use 4 cores only if you notice loading delays on the world map during a busy event window.
  • Virtualization (VT-x / AMD-V): Enable this in your BIOS if you have not already. GameLoop runs significantly faster with hardware virtualization enabled, even for a low-demand game like Evony.

Notes on Boss Events and SvS Timing

Evony's scheduled events — Boss Hunt, Viking, Dragon, Jötnar, and Server vs. Server — run on fixed timetables that vary by server age. Once you know your server's schedule, you can plan around it:

  • Boss Hunt events last a limited window (often one hour). The multi-instance setup lets you dispatch from both accounts without switching apps.
  • SvS battles involve real-time alliance coordination. PC gives you the overview to watch incoming marches while managing your own troops — something that is genuinely harder to maintain on a 6-inch phone screen.
  • Construction and research timers run while GameLoop is minimized. You do not need to leave the window focused; the game state advances in the background as long as the emulator process is running.

Common Questions

Does Evony detect GameLoop? TOP Games has not issued bans for emulator use on Evony. The game has no stated policy against emulators, and the community routinely plays on BlueStacks, LDPlayer, and GameLoop without account issues. Use only your own accounts.

Can I transfer progress from mobile? Yes — log in with the same Facebook, Apple, or Google account you use on mobile. All your city progress, hero levels, alliance membership, and purchased items carry over immediately.

Does GameLoop version stay in sync with the mobile version? GameLoop installs from the Play Store, so it tracks the same update channel as Android mobile players. Updates appear in the Game Center notification when available. Always update before a major SvS event to avoid version-mismatch disconnects.
