CODM S8 Sensitivity Settings for GameLoop PC — Tuning for the New Meta

DPI, ADS multipliers, and per-weapon calibration for the S8 meta — LAPA, Krig 6, FFAR 1, and how to approach the two new Battle Pass weapons on keyboard and mouse.

Season 8 reshuffles the ranked weapon meta in Call of Duty: Mobile. The LAPA is now the best SMG, the AS VAL is out, and two new weapons — the Static-HV SMG and ISO Hemlock AR — are in everyone's loadout from day one. Your sensitivity settings from S7 may need adjustment. This guide covers everything from DPI basics to per-weapon ADS tuning, written specifically for GameLoop PC players.

How sensitivity works on GameLoop

Three things interact when you move the mouse in GameLoop:

DPI (set in your mouse driver) controls how many counts the cursor generates per centimetre of movement. Higher DPI = less physical movement needed per in-game action. This is global and sits outside the game.

In-game sensitivity (the hip-fire slider in CODM settings) controls how fast the camera rotates per input count. It scales on top of DPI.

ADS multipliers are per-scope modifiers that apply only while aiming down sights. A multiplier of 50 means your ADS speed is half your hip-fire speed.

The practical advice: set DPI in your mouse software, set in-game sensitivity at a moderate value, then calibrate ADS multipliers per scope. Chasing the "right" in-game slider number while ignoring DPI produces inconsistent results.

A solid S8 starting point

These values work well for players coming from desktop FPS games and the LAPA-primary playstyle that S8 rewards:

SettingValue
Mouse DPI800
In-game sensitivity (hip)100
Aim sensitivity (non-scoped ADS)70
Red Dot / Holo70
Tactical Scope (2×)65
3× Tactical60
4× Tactical55
6× Tactical50
8× Tactical45

If you have several years of desktop FPS experience and prefer lower-DPI play (larger mouse pads, more arm movement), use DPI 400 and in-game sensitivity 130. The in-game feel is similar; the physical muscle memory is different.

Tuning for the S8 meta weapons

LAPA SMG (new S8 tier 1)

The LAPA is the SMG to run in S8 ranked. Its S8 damage buff (31/28/20/16 → 33/29/22/16) means it now wins more close-range gunfights — which are also the gunfights where your ability to track a moving player matters most.

Sensitivity approach: The LAPA fires fast and you will often be sprinting to fire. Keep your hip-fire sensitivity at a level where you can flick 90° without overshooting — that is the main mechanical ask for LAPA CQB. If you are overshooting fast rushers, bring in-game sensitivity down 10–15 points rather than adjusting DPI.

ADS multiplier: LAPA is mostly used without ADS (hip-fire for rushes) or with the non-scoped ADS multiplier for quick 1x scans. Keep your 1x ADS at 65–70. Lower than 65 and you lose tracking speed for moving targets at 15–25m.

Krig 6 AR (returning to meta)

The Krig 6 has always been the "consistent" AR — low recoil, easy to use, forgiving at range. The S8 buff (new 31-damage tier at 10m, extended second damage range) rewards players who already had a Krig 6 build.

Sensitivity approach: The Krig 6's recoil pattern is gentle and vertical. On a mouse, you compensate by pulling slightly down during sustained fire. Do not raise sensitivity to compensate for perceived slow tracking — the weapon rewards stable aim, not fast flicks.

ADS multiplier: You will often run the Krig 6 with a 2x or 3x scope at 30–50m engagements. Drop your 2x multiplier to 55–60. At 65, the crosshair moves faster than is comfortable for the deliberate tracking shots the Krig 6 is designed for.

FFAR 1 AR (close-mid option)

The FFAR 1 sits between the LAPA and Krig 6 — faster fire rate than the Krig, more damage range than the LAPA. Its S8 buff (initial range 6.6m→10m) rewards players who can sustain accurate fire on a slightly recoiling AR.

Sensitivity approach: The FFAR 1 kicks more than the Krig 6. At higher sensitivity values, the muzzle rise in a 10-bullet burst becomes harder to track back to centre. Keep hip-fire at 100 or below and let your 1x ADS multiplier sit around 65–70.

Reload note: The FFAR 1 has a long reload animation. Bind your reload key to a thumb button or somewhere you can activate without lifting your aiming hand. Running out of bullets in a ranked gunfight with the FFAR 1 costs matches.

The two new S8 weapons

Static-HV SMG (Challenge Pass)

Pre-launch information: aggressive fire rate, 50-round magazine. The high fire rate puts it in a similar category to the LAPA for close-range engagements.

Sensitivity approach pre-launch: Set up the same as LAPA (hip-fire 100, 1x ADS at 65–70). After you play day 3–5 and feel the recoil pattern, adjust from there. A faster-recoiling SMG may want 1x ADS dropped to 60.

ISO Hemlock AR (free Battle Pass tier)

Pre-launch profile: high damage, low recoil, mid-range focus — maps onto the Krig 6 niche. It is available to every player who logs in during S8, so you will face it constantly regardless of whether you run it.

Sensitivity approach pre-launch: Set up the same as Krig 6 (2x ADS at 55–60). If in-game testing shows it has less muzzle rise than expected, raise to 60–65.

The sniper and DMR meta

The S8 sniper buffs (SKS: arm damage 48→54, recoil reduced; M21 EBR: range 62M→65M, damage improved; Arctic .50: vertical recoil reduced) make long-range play more viable this season. If you are running a sniper secondary:

ScopeRecommended multiplier
3x55–60
4x50–55
6x45–50
8x40–45

The lower multipliers at 6x and 8x apply because long-range shots require keeping a still crosshair on a target's head rather than fast tracking. On GameLoop, where mouse control is more precise than mobile touch, slightly lower ADS speed gives you steadier hold rather than speed.

Quick troubleshooting

"I keep overshooting targets at close range" — Lower hip-fire sensitivity by 10–15 points, or reduce DPI. Don't compensate by lowering in-game sensitivity while keeping high DPI.

"My ADS feels too slow at mid-range" — Raise the relevant scope multiplier by 5. Repeat until tracking feels natural. The scope multipliers are the right tool for this; the base in-game sensitivity is not.

"New weapons feel inconsistent compared to my S7 builds" — Spend 10 minutes in a private TDM match with the new weapon before ranked. Sensitivity calibration against real moving targets (even bots) is faster than adjusting numbers in settings menus.

"I was running AS VAL last season and nothing feels right" — The AS VAL's close-to-mid burst rhythm encouraged a fast-flick sensitivity. The LAPA rewards more sustained close-range tracking. Slight sensitivity reduction (100→90 hip-fire) may feel more natural when transitioning.
