CODM S8 Last Week Checklist — What to Finish Before Season 9 on GameLoop PC
Season 8 ends around mid-October. The Free Mythic weapon, Honkai collab missions, and ranked placement don't carry over — here's what to lock in on GameLoop PC before the window closes.
Season 8 — Against All Fate — launched September 9 and runs until around mid-October. If you have been playing steadily, most of the season's content is already behind you. If you are still working through the Free Mythic event, the Honkai Impact 3rd collaboration missions, or your ranked climb, the final stretch is now. After the season ends, none of these carry over.
This is the priority order for GameLoop PC players who want to finish clean.
1. Free Mythic Pick 1 of 3 — Lock In Your Weapon
The Free Mythic Pick event started September 11 and asks you to work toward one of three weapons: Static-HV Core of Fire, ISO Core of Thunder, or BAL-27 Core of Reason. You complete weekly missions to earn progress toward whichever weapon you selected.
Important: you can still change your selection before completing the final milestone. If you started with one weapon and have since decided another fits your playstyle better, switch now — before you claim the final reward.
From October 1, the Holiday Login Rewards accelerate milestone progress. If you have been logging in daily since October started, the final milestones should land within the last week of the season if you are on pace.
On GameLoop PC: the weekly missions often include Multiplayer match requirements or ranked placement targets. Log in daily, complete the weekly batch, and run ranked for double credit. Do not leave weekly missions incomplete on the last reset before season end — there is usually a reduced-mission week at the end of a season and the final weekly batch before reset is often shorter than it looks.
2. Battle Pass — Finish the Tiers You Are Missing
The S8 Battle Pass includes:
- ISO Hemlock AR — available on the free tier; you do not need the paid BP to earn this weapon
- Keegan — Field Medic, Manta Ray — Mech Framewright, Cipher — Mech Pilot, Corso — Plated Rogue — paid pass operators
- Multiple weapon blueprints and calling cards across paid and free tiers
If you have the paid Battle Pass, check your current tier. Most active players reach 50 tiers in a season without XP boosters. If you are behind and the remaining tiers include operator rewards you want, use any remaining XP cards now — they expire with the season.
If you are on the free pass: the ISO Hemlock AR is confirmed on the free tier. Make sure you have claimed it. If you hit the tier threshold and did not open it, it may still be claimable from the rewards chest.
3. Challenge Pass — Claim the Static-HV SMG
The S8 Challenge Pass unlocks the Static-HV SMG, the new aggressive SMG in S8 with a 50-round magazine. If you have been completing Challenge Pass objectives, verify that you have claimed the final weapon reward — it does not auto-collect.
The Static-HV has drawn attention for its Akimbo build and close-range aggression. Even if you do not plan to use it immediately, claiming it now means it is in your weapon locker permanently.
4. Honkai Impact 3rd Collab — Time-Limited Content
The Honkai Impact 3rd collaboration is the headline event of Season 8, and it is entirely time-limited. After Season 8 ends, the following will no longer be accessible:
- Honkai story quests and missions — complete these for XP, collab tokens, and the story payoff if you care about the Honkai crossover narrative
- Character encyclopedia and dormitory lobby — cosmetic systems added via the collab; complete the collection entries if you have invested in the operators
- Quantum Platform POI (Battle Royale) — the Isolated map Honkai collab POI that unlocks high-quality loot via a teleporter mechanic; worth running a few times before it disappears
- Honkai operator draws — Rin Yoshida (Herrscher of Thunder), Siren (Herrscher of Flamescion), and Kestrel (Herrscher of Reason) are limited draws. If you intended to pull and have not, this is your window
On GameLoop PC: the Quantum Platform POI defend-and-extract mechanic suits keyboard players well. You hold a position while the teleporter charges — setup-heavy play with stationary sightlines is one of the places the emulator advantage is most consistent. Worth one or two runs before the POI disappears.
5. Mythic Series Armory — Use Your Materials
The Mythic Armory event opened September 25. It offers four Honkai-themed Mythic blueprints:
- Katana — Domain of Sanction
- Nail Gun — Domain of Incandescence
- FHJ — Domain of Revelation
- Scythe — Aphrodite Scythe (melee blueprint)
These blueprints are purchased with event materials. If you have accumulated materials during the season and have not spent them, check the Armory now. Unspent materials do not carry into Season 9.
6. Ranked Season — Secure Your Tier Placement
The ranked season resets with Season 9. Your placement at season end determines:
- The ranked reward border and calling card for S8 (tied to your peak rank or final rank, depending on CODM's current reward structure)
- Your starting rank for Season 9 (you do not start from zero — rank rollback is partial, usually around two tiers down from your peak)
If you are in the Master or Legend bracket and want to stay there for the soft-reset, maintain your position through the final day. Do not queue in the last few hours of the season if the servers are unstable — a disconnection loss at the end of a season can cost a rank tier.
On GameLoop PC: the final days of a ranked season tend to see heavier server load and more matchmaking volatility as players try to push or hold rank. If you experience lag spikes during the final 24 hours, switch to a local server if available, reduce in-game graphics to Max Frame Rate rather than Max Visual, and close any background processes. End-of-season lag is common and not a GameLoop issue specifically — it is the server population spike.
7. Prestige — Dingo Diamond Oracle
The Dingo Diamond Oracle LMG is the S8 Prestige weapon. If you have been grinding Prestige XP since September 9 and are close to the threshold, finish it out. The Dingo is a cosmetic Prestige reward that does not carry into S9 in the same tier — claiming it in S8 means it is permanently unlocked on your account.
Priority Summary
| Priority | Item | Action |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Free Mythic event | Verify selection, complete final weekly missions |
| 2 | Ranked climb | Hold or reach target tier before reset |
| 3 | Honkai collab missions | Complete before season end |
| 4 | Battle Pass tiers | Use XP cards, claim earned rewards |
| 5 | Mythic Armory | Spend accumulated materials |
| 6 | Challenge Pass | Claim Static-HV SMG |
| 7 | Prestige (Dingo) | If close, finish the XP threshold |
Season 9 typically resets within a day of Season 8 ending — there is rarely a maintenance gap long enough to go back and claim missed rewards. Whatever the checklist says at season end is what you locked in.
