CODM Season 8 Battle Pass Guide — Free Weapons, Operators, and Mythic Armory on PC

Season 8 gives every GameLoop PC player a new AR weapon for free. Here is what is in the pass, what requires CP, and how to get the most from the Honkai Impact Mythic Armory.

Season 8 "Against All Fate" does something uncommon: it gives every player two entirely new weapons without paying anything. The ISO Hemlock AR is a free Battle Pass reward, and the Static-HV SMG comes from the Challenge Pass. On GameLoop PC, both weapons will be in your arsenal on day one if you log in and claim them.

Here is a breakdown of what is in the pass, what requires CP, and how to prioritize.

The Most Important Thing First: Two New Weapons, One Completely Free

ISO Hemlock (AR) — Free Battle Pass tier.

This is the headliner for free players. The ISO Hemlock is a new assault rifle introduced in Season 8 as a standard Battle Pass weapon — no COD Points required, no Challenge Pass required. Reach the relevant tier and it is yours.

Its profile before S8 launch: high damage per bullet, lower recoil than most ARs, strongest at mid-range. Ranked players who logged hundreds of hours on the Krig 6 or LAPA will find the ISO Hemlock a similar archetype — not a spray weapon, but one that rewards controlled bursts.

On GameLoop PC, a predictable mid-range AR suits keyboard-and-mouse play well. Mouse control handles recoil correction faster than thumbstick drag, which makes the ISO Hemlock's shot-discipline requirement easier to meet. Expect it to appear in most ranked lobbies within the first week — it being free means ubiquity.

Static-HV (SMG) — Challenge Pass weapon.

The Static-HV is the Season 8 SMG addition, but it sits behind the Challenge Pass, not the standard Battle Pass. It features a 50-round magazine and an aggressive fire rate, which puts it in the same usage bucket as the Hurricane or LAPA for close-range pressure.

The Challenge Pass is a separate purchase from the standard Battle Pass. If you play aggressive or ranked, the SMG plus early-season ranked grind combination is the typical case for buying it. If you run ARs in ranked, the Challenge Pass is cosmetics plus the Static-HV for variety.

Paid Battle Pass: Operators and Prestige

Premium operators (paid Battle Pass):

  • Keegan — Field Medic
  • Manta Ray — Mech Framewright
  • Cipher — Mech Pilot
  • Corso — Plated Rogue

All four are cosmetic. On GameLoop PC, operator skins have no effect on hitbox, performance, or audio. The choice to buy the paid pass is entirely about whether you want these specific operator looks for the season.

Prestige weapon (paid, end-of-pass):

  • Dingo — Diamond Oracle (LMG blueprint)

A high-tier LMG blueprint at the end of the paid pass. The Dingo is a functional weapon — the Diamond Oracle blueprint adds a cosmetic skin on top of a weapon worth carrying in ranked.

Mythic Armory — Honkai Impact 3rd Series

The Season 8 collaboration brings a separate Mythic weapon series tied to Honkai Impact 3rd. Three Mythic blueprints are in the Armory:

  • Static-HV — Core of Fire (Honkai Mythic, SMG)
  • BAL-27 — Core of Reason (Honkai Mythic, AR)
  • ISO — Core of Thunder (Honkai Mythic, AR)

These are premium cosmetics at the top of the cosmetic tier. They do not change weapon stats. If you are running the ISO Hemlock in ranked, the ISO Core of Thunder Mythic is the matching cosmetic — same weapon class, maximum rarity.

Honkai Armory Drops: Melee and Special Weapons (Sep 25 Opening)

A separate Honkai collaboration Armory opens later in the season. This batch contains:

  • Katana — Domain of Sanction (melee blueprint)
  • Nail Gun — Domain of Incandescence (secondary)
  • FHJ-18 — Domain of Revelation (launcher)
  • Aphrodite Scythe (melee blueprint)

The Sep 25 opening is toward the end of the season. If you are tracking the Honkai collaboration content specifically, the Armory in the store is where these unlock.

Free Mythic Weapon Event (Sep 11 — Changeable Selection)

Every player gets one free Mythic weapon via an in-game event that opens September 11. The selection is changeable, meaning you can pick which Mythic you want and update your choice before the deadline. The exact task list to unlock it becomes visible at event launch on Sep 11.

Priority for GameLoop PC: choose a Mythic for a weapon you actively run in ranked. If the ISO Hemlock enters your main loadout after S8 launches, the ISO Core of Thunder is a natural fit. Do not lock in on day one — wait until you have played a few ranked matches to see which weapon you are actually using.

Summary: What Free Players Get

RewardCostNotes
ISO Hemlock ARFree (Battle Pass)New AR, mid-range, low recoil — meta candidate
Static-HV SMGChallenge Pass (paid)50-round mag, aggressive fire rate
Free Mythic weaponFree (event, Sep 11)Changeable selection — pick on day 3–5

Free players who log in on September 9 and claim their Battle Pass tiers leave with a new meta AR weapon and a Mythic blueprint of their choice by September 11. That is a better free-tier value than most previous seasons.

Is the Paid Battle Pass Worth Buying?

The two weapons that matter to ranked performance — ISO Hemlock and Static-HV — are available via the free pass and Challenge Pass respectively. The standard paid Battle Pass does not unlock either weapon faster.

What the paid pass adds: four operators (cosmetic), the Dingo Diamond Oracle LMG blueprint, and the full tier progression for seasonal cosmetics. If you play CODM every season and like switching operator looks, the paid pass is in line with what every season offers. If your only question is whether the paid pass gives a competitive advantage in ranked — it does not.

GameLoop PC Specifics

Download and level the ISO Hemlock in Team Deathmatch before ranked. Sensitivity presets do not carry over to new weapons automatically — build a separate ranked preset for the ISO Hemlock before queuing. The Challenge Pass Static-HV grind is faster on GameLoop PC than mobile because mouse aim cuts the time per objective-mode challenge significantly.
