Jungle assassins (Zed, Akali, Shaco) have very short burst windows — if Smart Cast is off, the range-circle delay is the difference between a clean kill and a wasted combo. Camera speed at 6 gives you enough unlocked-camera room to check the Baron pit or the top-side river without moving away from the fight. Ping on G after every objective kill is a habit, not a luxury: it tells your team what to do with the lead before they idle.
